I was working in a drawing today (V10.5) that suddenly would not populate the attributes dialog box after right-clicking on a cabinet that I needed to customize. The only thing that would work after this was to hit escape; it froze all mouse/keyboard capabilities within the program.
I decided to start the drawing completely from scratch (AFTER copying and pasting in a new file, saving as - anything but to lose all of the work); I got about 15 minutes into the layout when I went to place a window over a sink base. Same thing started to happen. The window would not attach to the wall, my mouse completely froze and all I could do was hit escape. No attributes options and no way to place anything from a manufacturer's catalog followed directly behind that.
20-20 Tech Support has told me to clear out all of my customized settings. I design for several other designers, all of which have their own fonts, dimension preferences, wall colors, etc.; emptying those settings is huge for me. And for some reason, I feel like it may be more than just a simple settings issue.

It's actually quite simple to 'empty' those. Simply click on the Room Layout ribbon and in the Display Settings box pull the down arrow next to the top empty box and select 20-20 (All Items) or whatever scheme you want/need. This will reset the customized settings back to a factory default and give some uniformity to your drawings no matter what the designer used.
Also, if you work with several designers, you should get in the habit of emptying your temp files. (For Win7 go to Start > All Programs > Design > Tools > Maintenance Tools and click on Delete Temp Files. )
The room layout tab is where I have all of the designer's settings saved (I've assigned their names to each one) so that I can change everything with one click prior to printing drawings. I was afraid this is what they were asking me to clean out. It seems they are still in tact after a factory re-set.
I suspect that the Attributes window was somehow dragged out into space. Maybe if you use multiple monitors or maybe use a large monitor in one location and a small one in another. Anyway, it sounds like you need to move the Attributes window back onto the screen.
If you have a decently fast PC, you can use VMWARE Player to set up multiple virtual machines all running different configs of 2020 Design with their own logos, settings etc. This can be handy as a backup as well.
Sometimes Design glitches on a particular design of kitchen (design in the layout with measurement sense as opposed to a specific file) - I've had this happen a few times. I even resorted to trying a different machine and 2020 glitched at the same point in the design. Maybe something about the combination of walls & windows.
