installing on ubuntu 12.04

Hello, I am attempting to install lessfs v1.5.13 with hamsterdb (i've tried from versiochecking for ham_env_new in -lhamsterdb... no
configure: error: "Hamsterdb is not found"
n 2.0.2 to version 2.1.0). on version 2.0.2 I get an error when running mklessfs:

mklessfs: error while loading shared libraries: libhamsterdb.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

and when trying to configure lessfs with hamsterdb 2.1.0 I get the error:

checking for ham_env_new in -lhamsterdb... no
configure: error: "Hamsterdb is not found"


does anyone have any suggestions for how to fix this issue?

Why don't you use Berkelydb?

Hamsterdb has changed it's API.

I'll change the lessfs code when I have time.

I also have a port which supports openldap's lightning db. Putting it online is somewhere on my TODO list as well.

Same issue, also interested in getting this to work with the latest hamsterdb.  I have a situation with many small files and believe the performance improvements in hamsterdb will be very helpful.

BTW - for anyone else wanting to get this to work and having this problem, I was able to successfully compile against hamsterdb 2.0.5:

Side note -- if you are getting:

# mklessfs

mklessfs: error while loading shared libraries: libhamsterdb.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Try running ldconfig to flush your lib caches and using mklessfs again.
