TheUpper Mississippi River Navigation Charts cover the Upper Mississippi River from the head of navigation at river mile 866 in Minneapolis, Minn., to the confluence with the Ohio River at Cairo, Ill. The navigable portions of the Minnesota and St. Croix Rivers are also included. The charts were last updated in 2011. They are available to purchase in hard copy format from the Mississippi River (at Locks & Dam 15) and Illinois Waterway (at Starved Rock Lock & Dam) Visitor Centers, and digital copies are freely available for download.

The Illinois Waterway Navigation Charts cover the Illinois Waterway from the confluence of the Illinois and Upper Mississippi Rivers to Lake Michigan at Chicago and Calumet Harbors. The charts have been updated in 2013. A Geospatial PDF refers to a Portable Document Format (PDF) with certain geospatial encoding that relates a region on a PDF document page to a region in physical space. The establishment of this relationship is a process called georeferencing. The georeferencing metadata in the provided files uses the Adobe PDF 1.7 specification for writing geospatial PDF files.

My team and I are interested in helping our members navigate/create routes on hiking trails. Unfortunately, our license does not include Navigator, which seems like the best option. App Studio also seemed like a good option, but Esri is discontinuing it early next year.

Have any of you found a way to implement something like this in Field Maps? The directions tool is great if you're driving, but from what I can tell the navigation is not internal, and you can't use custom roads (or in this case, trails) that you've created.

There are 3 chart books. One has the entire system and the other two are just the Upper section above Demopolis and the Lower section below Demopolis. So, from Mobile, AL and the Gulf of Mexico, up the Mobile River to the confluence of the Alabama at mile 45, the Black Warrior/Tombigbee Rivers (BWT) continue to Demopolis where it forks off on the Tombigbee to eventually tie into the Tennessee (these chart books do not cover this part of the Tombigbee), and the Black Warrior River to the head of navigation above Birmingham, Ala, and being fed by the Locust and Mulberry Forks. Charts portray all the feature information as in the Inland Electronic Navigation Charts, including Bridge Profiles, Elevated Clearance Tables, and a Recommended Sailing Line.
