Istill use the PC88 because of the ac bass. I used to dislike it but I have slowly grown to realize that it "feels" more like an acoustic bass than the newer iterations from Kurzweil and even my other favorite the Roland ac basses ( mainly samples of John Patittuci - Spectrasonics if memory serves )

I'm thinking of the flagship Kurzweil PC3K8 ( Oh Lord these endlessly monotonous model names ) I'm hoping their ac bass can be shaped into something like the pc88 the decay sustain is excellent on the 20 year old technology

Maybe this is the best place for a shameless plug! Our now not-so-new new video at is a 40 minute adaptation of T. S. Eliot's "Prufrock" - check it out! And hopefully I'll have something new here this year. ;-)

Most of the contents are in the PC3 series. There are some exceptions (also some exceptions in the base ROM sounds of the PC2). SVG on SonikMatter forum has posted a number of PC3 patches for some of the PC2 sounds that are not present, although there are still some bass guitar, synth, and pads that I like better on the PC2. Orchestrals are mostly the same, although there are some percussion orchestrals that didn't make the transition. Vintage keys - some made it, some didn't, others are brand new on the PC3.

My PC2X is currently in my wife's office and is used as a home keyboard. The PC2 (and PC361) are at church - gives me one 61key synth keyboard and a 76 key lightly weighted board. Whenever Kurzweil's next-generation board comes out, I may get an 88 key, put my PC3X in the wife's room, put the PC2X at church for a full 88 key board, and give the PC2 to my granddaughter.
