Warning! Do not use a used tank!
a empty one that had gas in it will explode and a full will burn when
exposed to a flame

To start off I ordered a new 1987 to 1991 Chevrolet Blazer 31 gal.gas
tank. I also ordered the 31 gal tank sender and straps for holding it
up.that all came to about $300.00 with shipping. as near as I can remember
I got my tank from 1A Auto.com get yours where ever. The tank is square 28
3/4"by 28 1/8" by 12 3/4" deep. The Chev gas tank is 26" same width as the
LeSharo's tank but square and has a 1"flange all around making the 28"+
There is also a Chev Blazer gas tank 25 gal same size but 10 3/4" if you
want more gas and don't want to change the floor inside . (see picture)

To start tank modifications
Get a 6" piece of galvanized 2" exhaust pipe for the new filler. The Chev
filler pipe is 1 7/8" and the LeSharo is 2". I measured over and down on
Chev tank so it will be in same location as the LeSharo's the Chev tank has
a 1 1/2" dome where the sender goes into middle of the top of tank, you
have to allow for this. If your are not going to raise floor over sender
unit you will place filler 1 `1/2" higher on tank. I cut out around the
filler opening in Chev tank and found a piece of galvanize metal the same
weight as the gas tank to solder over opening, then I cut opening in tank
for new filler location.(see picture) I took this to a radiator shop and he
charged me $50.00 to solder in the new filler pipe and patch over the old
one and pressure test the tank.

If you don't raise the floor the fuel inlet will be one and a half inch higher.jpg
