Hi, My name is Cherlyn Walden. I'm a community member living in the Central Area. We are currently putting together a community clean up in the Squire Park neighborhood, and was encouraged to invite other neighborhood groups to come support us and participate in our project that is taking place on May 30th. I've attached our flyer and sponsorship letter to the files section. If you could get the word out to your residents, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, if there is any additional information I could provide please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you so much!

Sincerely,

"...I believe that we have a serious challenge to meet. I believe that if we want to give our children the best possible chance in life; if we want to open doors of opportunity while they're young and teach them the skills they'll need to succeed later on, then one of our greatest responsibilities as citizens, as educators, and as parents is to ensure that every American child can read and read well. "

Hi Cherlyn,

The Leschi News, our monthly community newsletter, goes to the printer
by mid-month and our monthly meetings are the 1st Wednesday of each
month. So, unfortunately, there isn't much of an opportunity to help
you to promote this.

To get greater visibility for your event, I recommend that you post it
on the very active CD news blog: http://www.centraldistrictnews.com/

As a "heads up," I was at the East Precinct Crime Prevention Coalition
meeting last night and they reported a march and rally in support of
health care reform is expected to draw a really large crowd (5-10K)
and is likely to cause some major traffic problems. The gathering
point is Pratt Park, the march is down Jackson to 4th and then to
Westlake Park for the closing rally.
