Every year in the fall, the community gardens of the Lower
East Side, through LUNGS (Loisaida United Neighborhood Gardens),
come together to present 10 days of free arts programming in the
community gardens of the Lower East Side. This year the festival
occurs Friday, September 29 to Sunday, October 8, 2023 in

The Clash, documentary about public space in New York, at the LUNGS Festival, 7:30 PM October 1
After a successful premier of "The Community Gardens and Public Spaces of New York City,"in Berlin, The Clash, a screening in New York on October 1 at the LUNGS festival. Over a dozen years in the making, the Clash is a story about public space in New York, with contests over green space, biking, occupying, sustaining, and Black Lives in public space. After all Pete Seegar puts it: “If the human race is here in a hundred years, cities will show the world how to work together - creating community gardens and little things all over.”
