Thanks to gardener friends Magali and Aresh for this reminder - very important that we make a stand at City Hall (meet Murray and Broadway on Monday. 11:30 am). Whether or not you are a community gardener, you are on this list because we met in some way thanks to the persistent survival of our beloved gardens. We didn't allow Giuliani to take them, and we will stop Eric Adams as well.

I'm part of More Gardens for a reason - protect what we have, create more.

Come speak against Executive Order 43. through which Adams directed all the City agencies to scout for land to build housing upon - even the Parks Dept!

Hello NYC Community Gardeners,

We need your support! On October 28th, Green Guerillas, LUNGS, and the New York City Community Garden Coalition will be hosting a press conference at NYC City Hall to urge Mayor Eric Adams to protect our community gardens from potential development under Executive Order 43. We’re calling on all community gardeners to stand with us in solidarity! View our Press Conference Act Plan.

Event Details:

📅 Date: Monday, October 28th
📍 Location: New York City Hall | City Hall Park, New York, NY 10007
📍 Meet-Up Point: Murray St Broadway St, New York, NY 10007
🕛 Time: 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM
🔗 RSVP: Link to RSVP

From Aresh, on the vision inherent in our group, More Gardens:

Our City needs to have a proactive and visionary Parks/HPD - Community Garden and Housing Mandate: "Creating One Community Garden for Every 99 Units of Housing Built in NYC." This approach offers a win-win solution for our communities and the city's future.
