Greetings gardeners,
This is an important Public Service Announcement.
The new budget will be voted in soon and Parks & Recreation's budget might be cut, unless they hear from a whole lot of us.
GreenThumb could use our voices. They are terribly under-staff;  they could, for instance, use more community garden coordinators; to hire them, there needs to be funds allocated for that. All the supplies, capital improvement projects in our community gardens, there needs to be enough in the budget for that. And all the city parks, large and small, need budgets to be maintained.
If you can show up at City Hall on Thursday at 1pm to testify about how important it is that our parks and community gardens continue to be funded, that would be fantastic. If you can't get there, you can testify via zoom or send in a written testimony.

Play Fair for Parks (New Yorkers for Parks): Rally at City Hall Steps, Broadway entrance - Thursday March 20th Noon to 1PM
