FYI - Governor Hochul vetoed the bill. It's disappointing but as the saying goes 'La lucha continua'

It's not the Thanksgiving news we were hoping for ;-(

Renee - I'm Cc'd the board.

Yes - Governor Hochul vetoed the CEA bill.

In view of the fact that the bill was unanimously approved / passed by both the State Senate and the State Assembly, I already put a call in to the legislative head of the State Assembly - Speaker Carl Heastie - about securing a meeting in order to discuss if that numerical vote outcome can be leveraged and what would it take for the State legislature to vote to override the Governor's veto. I haven't heard back. I'm speculating - It's hard to reach people at the moment because of the holiday period.

We - the board - need to meet in order to discuss what our organizing strategy and tactics should be. We cannot go down without a fight.

Respectfully,
Ray
