Meet The Farmers
Tuesday, March 23 at 6pm
The Educational Alliance — 197 East Broadway

The farmers from Monkshood Nursery, our partner farm, will be here
from upstate to explain how CSA's work and how vital our support of
small, local to the future of farming in America. Come learn how the
farm operates and about the varieties and quantities of produce coming
in your share this summer. Core group members responsible for
organizing the LES CSA will be on hand to explain to you what you can
expect if you choose to join. We hope to answer all your questions.
Sign-ups for the 2010 season will continue.

If you cannot make the meeting but want to sign up, go to the online

Sign up will close by April 1, 2010 so don't delay.

Since opening up our registration form this month we've had a pretty
healthy response: 57 people have signed up for a total of 32 shares.
But for this CSA to reach its full potential, we need your help.

Our farmers at Monkshood Nursery need a 50-share commitment from us by
April 1 in order to start their planting on time. If we can't hit that
threshold, we may not be able to have a CSA this year.

So — please forward the information below to any of your neighbors you
think might be interested in joining this year, talk it up in the
elevator, knock on doors, whatever you can do over the next week to
make sure we get to 50 shares. The interest is definitely out there,
it's just a matter of getting this info to the right people in the
short amount of time we have.

(And don't worry -- if the worst happens and , all the checks that
you've sent in will be returned without troubl

Without your help we can't get this CSA off the ground this year.
