Two Suffolk County Community College Board of Trustees members will be recognized with prestigious New York Community College Trustees (NYCCT) awards for their service, leadership and dedication to improving access to education, providing opportunities for students and helping the college achieve its mission, it was announced by the NYCCT, a voluntary nonprofit community college trustee's consortium established to strengthen trustee's effectiveness in the development and implementation of public policy impacting community colleges. NYCCT represents the appointed board members who govern the 30 community colleges in the State University of New York (SUNY) system.
Seminole State College (Seminole State) is located in the metropolitan Orlando area in Seminole County, Florida. Seminole State provides learning opportunities at four campuses and sites throughout the county.
Sanford/Lake Mary Campus: Seminole State opened its doors here in 1966. Located 15 miles north of Orlando, the campus features 200 acres of beautiful, rolling countryside, and is bordered by Sanford to the north and Lake Mary to the west.
The Center for Economic Development at Heathrow: This facility, which opened in 2007, is a first-of-its-kind public/private partnership that is expected to strengthen Central Florida's economic development efforts and produce highly skilled workers to attract high-paying jobs to the area. The campus is located adjacent to Interstate 4.
