mjc, you have been around awhile you know many members (respected and part of various staff) would have posted the same thing in regards to many different subjects (people asking the same question over and over, etc.). There was another thread posted before his, which asked if cheat codes still worked. He could have posted there and said yes, they work but they disable achievements.
However, the context is different in that this topic title does state that they disable achievements where as the other one simply asked if the cheats worked (and the post itself, stating he didn't really mind if they disabled achievements he just wanted to know).
Anyways, I thanked him for the info in my original post and simply mentioned the other thread. I didn't tell him not to create the thread, only suggested he could have posted in the other thread instead of making a new one. Thus your post is misguided.
Going to have to resist entering cheats, was so use to doing it back in PS2 days be weird not doing them. Haha. Thanks for letting us know. Save having to dig through those other topics for an answer
Well, that's a deal breaker. I almost thought about getting it. It's really crazy if the achievements are permanently disabled on the save. All you had to do on GTA4 was reload your game, if I remember right. That made things like giving yourself all weapons and max ammo worthwhile cause you could save the effect, reload, and continue earning cheevos.
If you're able to pick it up for when it's less than 5 bucks, it's still doable. They've made a lot of missions easier (including the dreaded Train Mission and the plane mission with Zero) and with checkpoints, there's less worry about death. Just hang back and kill enemies from a distance in dangerous missions.
