List 10 web browsers. What are the differentiations of the web
browsers?

1. Firefox

Firefox is a browser designed from scratch to be secure, fast and
customisable. It is the safest browser available, as it doesn’t
contain many of the more obvious vulnerabilities that IE has, such as
ActiveX components so often used to install spyware on IE-users’
machines. Firefox is still under very active development by a huge
community of volunteer coders, many of whom worked at Netscape in its
heyday. If a vulnerability is found, it is corrected and an update
made available in days, sometimes hours. This means Firefox cannot
fall into the same trap that IE did — receiving no updates for years
and having its various security holes get exploited by thousands of
hackers and virus writers.

2.Safari

Safari comes with all the features you would expect in a modern
browser, like tabbed browsing, popup blocking and built-in search
functionality. It also has the best RSS-reading feature available to
date, which makes keeping track of a number of website much easier
than using bookmarks

3. Nescape

Netscape Navigator 8 is a browser originally based on the Mozilla
suite, with some Netscape branding and extra unnecessary interface
options thrown in on top. As such it’s also an excellent browser, but
the Mozilla suite or Firefox will be more regularly updated so I’d
advise you to go for one of them. One very interesting feature it has
in the Windows version is the ability to switch the rendering engine
between Internet Explorer’s and Gecko, so you can easily see how your
site looks in both.

4. Internet Explorer

Explorer is an average browser. The interface is still good and it’s
relatively speedy when rendering web pages, but its lack of support
for CSS specifications that were standardised in 1998 is a huge
problem. It is prone to crashing, and has hundreds of security holes
which allow spyware to get onto your system, to the point where I
can’t recommend it to anyone anymore. Upgrade to another browser
listed on this page, and encourage others to do likewise.

5. Opera

Opera Software’s browser is a really good piece of work. Billing
itself as “The fastest browser on Earth!” it is a free browser with
excellent standards support.
The amount of ideas and helpful features that they’ve managed to cram
into opera is really something else. Your desktop is kept tidy through
its tabbed browsing features, which opens all webpages in dockable
windows inside a single instance of the application. There are a range
of tools to help you find information on the net easily, from
integrated search-enabled toolbars to instantaneous looking-up of
selected words.

Two very helpful features are the page-zoom feature, which allows you
to zoom in the entire document, instead of just the text; and the
developer shortcuts to turn off stylesheets and images. In other
browsers you have to go through multiple menus or use bookmarklets for
this functionality.

6. Flock

Flock 2 is a free web browser built on Mozilla’s Firefox enables you
to instantly upload photos and videos. Flock is for people who 'live
on the web' since it has all the speed, security and options of
Firefox 3, but builds in a blog editor, photo-up-loader and big
sidebar to keep current with social networkingfriends, RSS feeds and
photo-sharing sites

7. Google Chrome (beta)
The new Google Chrome browser is stripped down for fast browsing, with
superb built-in search features, private browsing and a task manager
to help prevent crashes. Chrome also makes it possible to use Google
desktopapplications offline. However, it's still a work in progress
with few add-ons available, and since it's so new, some sites won't
display properly. Chrome is Windows-only.

8. Maxthon
Maxthon (pronounced [ˈmækstən] and formerly known as MyIE2) is a China-
based freeware (more specifically donateware) web browser for Windows.
From its early MyIE2 roots, Maxthon has developed a growing user base,
especially in China, and in 2006 it received commercial backing for
Maxthon 2.0.[1] It uses the Trident layout engine, like Microsoft's
Internet Explorer, but it can use the Gecko engine used in Mozilla
Firefox as well. It uses less system resources, is more stable, has
better compatibility, Mouse Gesture, Super Drag&Drop, Ad Hunter, Undo
List, Simple Skin Support, Plugins Support..."

9. Avant browser

Avant Browser is a popular freeware web browser from a Chinese
programmer named Anderson Che, which unites the Trident layout engine
built into Windows (see Internet Explorer shell) with an interface
intended to be more feature-rich, flexible and ergonomic than
Microsoft's Internet Explorer (IE). It runs on Windows 98 and above,
including Windows Vista. Internet Explorer version 6 or 7 must be
installed.

10. AOL Explorer

AOL has built upon Microsoft® Internet Explorer technology-the world's
most widely used-and raised it to the next level. AOL Explorer has
enhanced security and more time-saving features than any other
browser. Built-in pop-up controls help protect you against annoying
pop-ups and Spyware Quick Scan makes your surfing safer. It is more
efficient as it is a host of new tools, like Tabbed Browsing and a
Feeds Screensaver.
