Alright, here's my latest idea.

Pop Around The Clock.

I have two perm pops (Marion to Woodlawn 98 miles and Marion to
Metropolis 104 miles) which could be submitted for brevet populaires.
We could start both at the clock tower in Marion. The Marion to
Woodlawn has a time limit of about 10.5 hours, so we could start it at
20:30 Saturday June 3. Most riders would be back by 04:00 (maybe
earlier for some), but the next one couldn't be started until 07:00
Sunday June 4. In between maybe we could get Larry's House of Cakes
to do some sponsorship with donuts and coffee on the square for
riders, I could set up my canopy and RUSA sign (with the city's
permission), and riders could rest (sleep) until the time for the next
one to start. Both together would be just a little over 200 miles.

We could allow riders to sign up for either one or both, as they
choose.

And maybe we could make this an annual event along with the EDC.
(Which I'm still working on. I've got the route together, I need it
to be certified, now. It will be Sept 15.)

What do you think?

Hi Miles, If everything goes along as planned I will be riding this Sunday. I've been alittle under the weather for a week now, All the kids at school are now in the FLU season. I think your rides are good options for our members. I am planning on mapping out a route north of where I live, Mt. Vernon to Iuka, on to Omega (Forbes State Park), over to Xenia (my family farm) , down to Sam Dale Lake into Orchardville, through PaperTown, back to Mt. Vernon, 5 stores, 2 State Parks, alot of farm country. What do you think? Thanks, Doug

That sounds great!  What I'd like to do in the future is offer a full series (200/300/400/600) early in the year like this year, with a brevet week in May, a double century (pop around the clock) in July (Although if we do it this year, it will have to be in June because of my schedule), and the EDC double century in September.  The other months can be filled with 200 Kms brevets around the region in each member's home area.  We'll need more routes, though.

Besides, if you want that R-12 this year, you'll need a route to ride when we don't have a brevet that you can attend.  You don't have to make it 200Kms exactly or even close.  It could be 220 or 253 or whatever.  Just more than 200 to count towards R-12 credit.  Of course, shorter pops can count toward the P-12 if you have mind to do that.

Go Big or Go Home.
