Ed - our newest friend from Chicago, Miles, and I rolled out of Marion at 4:30pm on Saturday.  The weather man had called for an overnight low of 42, and minimal chance of rain.  We rode together to the first control in Wayne City.  On the road between Wayne City, a truck was parked along the road, and the driver was trying to flag us down.  At 10:00pm, the three of us suspected it was a blood thirsty red-neck.  Surprise! It was none other than our own Lee Cross, ready with bananas, water and Gatorade.  We took a few supplies and chatted for a minute, then had to get down the road.  Thanks for coming out Lee!  We got through the Harrisburg control, and headed out of town on the bike trail.  This was where the weather man got us.  42 degrees turned out to be more like 30.  We were all miserable, but survived.  At about 6:30am, we got a nice little rain shower.  Nothing too serious, but just enough to give us the chills.  We survived that too, and we all made it back to Marion.  On the way home, my good luck continued, as the northbound traffic on the interstate was backed up for a few miles at Mt. Vernon.  This was the first 400 I've done, and it was quite and adventure.  Looking forward to the next one.
