Hi everyone. I hope you are all doing well!

I was starting to work with LeQua data and a question came to my mind. Would it be OK with the rules of the competition to use unlabelled validation samples as training data for algorithms that can exploit this kind of input?. I know they are meant for model selection but I am tempted to try to use at least a part of them for training if it doesn't break the rules.

Best regards,
Pablo

Hello Pablo,

Given a task, it is OK to use the unlabeled validation samples for that task as training data (for algorithms that can exploit this kind of input).

Best regards,
Andrea

Yes, and remember to document that you have done so in the paper that you will write for the CLEF 2022 Working Notes.

Cheers  Fabrizio
