Our dear father, brother, uncle and grandfather Stephen James Huff 75 , passed away December 22, 2022 in Farmington, NM. He lived a full life and acquired many friends along the way who were drawn to his caring and generous spirit. He was born in Worecester, Massachusetts in 1947. After a childhood that included much traveling, he joined the Army and volunteered for three tours Vietnam from 1965-1969. Upon completion of his service in the Army he returned home to his wife, Janise Rudd, and raised 5 children. He worked as a boilermaker in Los Angles, CA and then moved to Farmington, NM to work on the addition of units 4 and 5 at Four Corners Power Plant. He loved and had many fond memories of he called "walking the red iron" during his time as a boilermaker. In a effort to bring stability to his family and avoid moving frequently he transitioned into the Farmington Fire Department where he cherished his time as one of the guys. The comradery and fraternity of Fire Fighters is something he spoke of often. He loved the outdoors as well as camping, hiking the Grand Canyon, rafting the Colorado and Animas River, and walking his dogs. He had a unique love of his creator, Jehovah God, that brought him much joy and happiness throughout his life and in his final days the promises regarding the future found in the Bible comforted him dearly. He will be missed. We love you pop.
Jason's words about dad, " My father and I were very close when he passed. I will never forget his readiness to help me in any need. I miss him greatly and will continue to do so. My family relationships have been strained, my father fathers family relationships have been strained, and we shared this unfortunate reality in common. Perhaps this was underlying reason why he and I were so close. My heart aches for him and I choose to remember how much of a cheerful giver he was. My father had great love and sensitivity in his heart. I personally have witnessed numerous occasions while we lived in Silver City when his thoughtful gestures of kindness towards others brought him much prideful satisfaction and joy. Those memories provide for me, even today windows into his heart condition of goodness, kindness, and warmth. I will meditate on happy thoughts and a firm hope of welcoming him into my arms during the resurrection, and sharing in a wonderful camping expedition unlike any in this system. Until then Pop, I love you."
Suzanne's words about dad, " My dad was an adventurer and a lover of the outdoors. My childhood was spent camping, hiking and traveling. I have so many memories with my dad. One of my favorite's was hiking up Mt. Zion when I was 14. Once we got past the narrows we aired up our inner tubes and floated back down. A favorite camping trip was in Tennessee. Dad took my brothers and I on our bikes and it was beautiful. Dad showed us so many beautiful areas all around the states. He loved playing with is grandkids and was so proud them. He loved his music as well, I remember him blasting Enigma and opening my door why vacuuming and telling me come on, get up. Let's get the day started. What I wouldn't give to have one more week with my dad, one more call, one more hug.
My dad had his struggles, but I know he loved my brothers and I so much. He had a big heart and loved helping his kids, and others when he could. I'll miss holding your hand dad, I'll miss your daily calls checking on me and asking if there's any lies, gossip, or slander. Enjoy your sleep now Papa, I'll see you very soon. I love you so much Papabear. Your daughter -Tutan."
Marie and I became friends by talking on the phone when she was working for Steve Huff plumbing. Through the years she assisted both me and my mother by getting us the help we needed and always showing genuine care and concern. I will truly miss her and my heart is saddened by her passing. She was a wonderful friend and my prayers are for her family. May God comfort each of you.

Dear Family of Marie, Steve, Ricky, and children, I knew your mom, Marie when I lived in Tennessee, I was her friend and also a friend of her mother, Beverly. She is a great person, I did speak with her on the phone a little after I moved away. Marie is still alive, very much alive, and she will attend her own funeral, as most people do, she will be happy to hear how much everyone loves her. We have a spirit body within this outer mortal body, and when the outside body dies, the body made of spirit matter is still alive. Marie is still the same loving person we know, and what is wonderful it that the spirit body is perfect, there is no defect or illness and it looks the way Marie looked when she was between 20 and 30 years of age--young and beautiful. She will be able to assist all of her family as they pray to God and ask for His help, He will send her because she loves all of you so much. Remember at this Easter season, that Christ even though crucified, was still alive in his spirit body and after 3 days he was resurrected and picked up his mortal body which became immortal. God Bless you, Leah & Vernon Wallen and family
An outstanding high school football player, Kenny earned an athletic scholarship to Ole Miss in the early seventies. He had met Archie Manning when the Ole Miss star quarterback was in Nashville to speak at the annual Banquet of Champions, an event honoring local high school championship teams. I had attended that banquet a few years earlier with my basketball team when Steve Spurrier, a recent Heisman Trophy winner from the University of Florida, was the guest speaker.
Kenny was too young, and our conversation was too fresh, for me to believe what my brother called to tell me early Sunday morning, about forty hours later. Kenny had slipped away from us early that morning, much like his dad had slipped away from my dad, just hours after they had played golf together. A heart attack, my brother said. We will bury Ken Huff tomorrow, but the gift of his humor, and the family stories he enjoyed sharing, will not be buried with him.
I have many wonderful memories of Ron, extending back 40 years when he used to babysit me (!) or when I'd hang around his barber shop at the Union. He was there by my family through many years of graduations, weddings, and other events. Often, too much time passed between times we would speak or meet, but when we did he was always so warm and it was both like so much time has passed and yet none at all. He is a beautiful soul and will be missed. My condolences to Pat and the "kids". -- "Mink"
For Ron's family, John and I were saddened to hear of Ron's passing. John went to Ron for hair cuts at the Union for many years. When our daughter was ready for her first haircut, John suggested Ron. He was so sweet to her. Whenever I see the picture I remember with a smile the memory Ron help make for us. That was over forty years ago. We always remembered Ron fondly. I'm going to try to load the picture. If I am not successful, I will get it to you somehow. Janet and John Tiffany and our daughter Whitney

Honorees, distinguished guests and ladies and gentlemen. Two years ago, I had the pleasure of presenting Bob Lilly. The Dallas Cowboys first Hall of Famer and today I am receiving a second honor and presenting a equally deserving player to be added to this distinguished group.
I just retired in 1955 as a player-coach. I was really still more player than coach. I spent most of my years with the Giant players living around New York and different hotels and I remember my wife and I were in with the players at West 81st at Central Park and Mary and Sam decided to stay with us and that was a mistake Sam will probably remember because I used to call him after every night and I would say, ''Sam ,, what are you doing?'' and Sam, of course, couldn't say anything and I would say Sam come on down and we will learn the four/three defense and pro football. And so, he spent many nights with me in my apartment learning that particular skill. I am sure that Mary would have much rather been seeing the sights of New York City than spending her evenings in the hotel room, but I hope those days helped Sam in his professional career.
It is not often a rookie can move into a middle linebacker spot or a quarterback spot his first year and have his team win the NFL championship, as the New York Giants did that year against the Chicago Bears in 1956. And I will remind George and Doug and them that we beat them 47-7 and I kind of hate to mention that today because they are behind me, but it was a great day for the Giants anyway.
He has a wonderful family, Mary his wife, and, of course, his sons, Sam & J.D. and certainly Cathy. My gratulations to Sam on this wonderful occasion and I join his family in their excitement today, it is my pleasure to present to you for induction into the NFL Hall of Fame a great football player and close friend, Mr. Sam Huff.
I can't describe to you how great it is to be here because there is no way one can describe the feelings in five minutes of his lifetime accomplishments. But I want to take this opportunity to personally thank the man who taught me how to play pro football and, of course, that is Tom Landry. Without his teaching and guidance, I certainly would not be here today. And I appreciate the fact that he left his Dallas Cowboys in training camp in California to be here with me and I guess I will be forever indebted to him.
I would just like to say that today is the best day of my life and I would like to thank the selection committee for making it possible and also the wonderful people here in Canton, Ohio because you all have done such a tremendous job and have been so gracious to all four of us-- the pick and shovel group of the Hall of Fame.
