I've just posted the first beta of Leonardo Sketch 1.1.  You can get it here:

This is mostly a bug fix release, but there's a few new features as well.

  • You can make any shape into a 'link' that points to a different page in your document.  This is great when making multi-screen mockups.  The UI for this feature is needs a complete redesign, though. Feedback is *greatly* appreciated.
  • Pattern Builder.  In the fill picker you can now create a new pattern using colors and stripes in addition to loading images. The pattern will be saved in the fill picker so you can use it again later.
  •  New HSV color picker when editing gradient stops. You can switch between HSV and the swatch picker as needed.

Other notable features and fixes:

  • Complete path refactoring so that:
    • bezier paths can be closed properly without ruining the reshape function.
    • bezier paths can snap to grid and gridlines when moving points
    • we can import SVG shapes with donut holes
    • convert boolean op areas with donut holes (subtract, intersect, etc.)
  • Improved SVG import and export. Please let me know if you have an SVG file that doesn't work.

Please play with it and tell me what you think should be fixed before a 1.1 release. Thanks!

- Josh

Hi Josh,

I've just tested out the following feature:

- bezier paths can snap to grid and gridlines when moving points

An issue I notice is the first (initial) point cannot be snapped to the grid whereas all other points can be moved and/or snapped to the grid. If I try to move the initial point (even when clicking on the 'move' button), the only option is to "close" the shape. It would be very useful to be able to move the initial point to snap to the grid as well. Thanks.

Sincerely,

Eugene Markow

Another issue: It's nice the Bezier Paths can be "closed", however, that should be "optional". Now, if someone wants to create an open ended shape without closing it, it closes automatically regardless. Again, The option to close or not-to-close the bezier path should be optional. Thanks.

Found few bugs:

1) alignment ( centering )
 - make 5-sided square
 - make a square
 - select both
 - align center (vertical, or horizontal)
ERR: not really centered.
ERR: also for bezier + square
( works fine for circle + square )

2) GUI blocked
 - click n-sided poly button
 - mouse-down on "n-sided poly button"
 - mouse-up on drawing area
ERR: gui gets blocked, menu repaints wrong .. etc
(same ERR in leo build 251)

3) gradient color selector does not hide
 - make circle
 - select gradient paint
 - click one of circles for step color
 - click on empty space
 - object properties dialog hides
ERR: color selector for gradient step color does not hide

4) centering text + square moves both
 - make square
 - make small text
 - select both
ERR: both move with each centering

Feature request:
When selecting color, and color for gradient to leave color selector open
(click on the color wheel)
this additionally speeds up prototyping
opacity for gradient step is nice this way, as dragging the control shows
changed opacity in realtime.
