Leo Club Program eNews
March 2014
Leo Club Awareness Month
April is Leo Club Awareness Month, so spread the word about your Leo club and the great work you do! One way to show your pride for the Leo Club Program is by displaying the Leo logo on your clothing and your club's promotional materials. To increase your Leo club's online exposure, consider starting an e-Leoclubhouse website or a Facebook page to share your service activities and demonstrate the impact your club is making in the community. During the month of April, join us in raising awareness of Leo clubs!
Global Service Action Campaign – Protecting our Environment
Environmental degradation affects our communities around the world and is putting the future of our planet at risk. Leos and Lions are stepping up to prevent environmental destruction through the "Protecting our Environment" Campaign that takes place in April and encourages Leos and Lions to organize service activities that address environmental issues such as clean water access, deforestation, pollution and littering. There are hundreds of ways you can protect the environment. Check out these environmental project ideas if you need inspiration. Participating in the "Protecting our Environment" Campaign is a great way to promote your club for Leo Club Awareness Month!
Changes to the Leo New Member Entrance Fee and Leo New Member Kits
We have good news- the Leo new member entrance fee has been eliminated! Sponsoring Lions clubs are no longer required to pay US$5 for Leo charter members over the initial 20 or for new Leos who join an existing club. Instead, Leos join free of charge and the sponsoring Lions club decides which materials they would like to purchase for the new Leo members through the Club Supplies Store on the LCI website.

Changes have also been made to the Leo new member kits to provide more streamlined introductory information and materials to Leos. Based on feedback received from Leos and Lions, the components of the Leo new member kit have been altered and now include the following materials:
  • Welcome letter
  • Membership card
  • Member guide
  • Membership certificate
  • Leo decal

Resource Spotlight: Club Supplies Store

The Club Supplies Store is your one-stop shop for all Leo materials and supplies, from apparel to pins and banners. The Alpha and Omega Leo new member kits were recently added to the online catalog, making it easier than ever for Lions to purchase kits for new Leos. The Leo lapel pin is now available as a separate component and can be purchased online through the Club Supplies Store. Orders for general Leo publications should continue to be placed through the Youth Programs Department using the Leo Club Program Publications Order Form (Leo-4).
