Working with a sample library or MIDI hardware device in Sibelius can be a daunting task. A sound set is essential to this goal or the experience will be lacking and severely limited, but building a quality integration is a significant undertaking. It can take years to truly learn the system, how to check for and recognize incompatibilities, and stumble through a seemingly infinite number of undocumented peculiarities when all you really want to do is bring some quality sounds into your notation-based composing environment.
I have followed the tutorial you quoted, Jordi Torres, and the more detailed one on Sibelius Blog ( -logic-pros-virtual-instruments-with-sibelius-6/) meticulously but can't quite get it to work. I can select the IAC driver from the dropdown mixer in Sibelius, but then I can't select the Logic sounds from the Sound ID underneath, it just says unallocated:
My intention is not for the solely for the sounds. My intention is to be able to have a hook up between my Sibelius scores and audio files in Logic. In other words, I write my scores in Sibelius... the MIDI is outputted into Logic so I can playback what I have notated in Sibelius through the Logic sounds.. then drop in audio files I have recorded over the top. And work back and forth. So also for example, let's say I have an audio recording of some audio stuff recorded in Logic and then I want to write something, notated in Sibelius, based on it. Or write a score for instruments in Sibelius and then create a soundscape in Logic. And so then be able to hear what I have written and what I have recorded in both together. And edit backwards and forwards.
