I extract .bdl file on a USB drive, insert the USB drive in the printer ( there is a USB port under touchscreen, you need to remove cap) then from printers menu go to Support tools -> Maintenance -> USB firmware upgrade and follow on-screen instructions.
"emmc not bootable 99.39.67". Reading around, we tried to install new firmware, I downloaded latest firmware for this model, loaded it on thumb drive and tried to boot printer with thumb.
First couple of steps went fine, but then firmware installation got stuck . It just keeps incrementing "initializing" number but otherwise no other response from it. Its been like this for more than 3+ hours now. Any suggestion on how to solve this will be greatly helpful.
OH, EDIT; take a known good Ethernet device, like the laptop mentioned above, configure it for the same static IP info you are trying to use for the printer. Make sure the printer is off, hook up this test laptop and see if it works on that IP #. That should verify you have a free IP # to use.
Never had an issue with a 608 but we update firmware right out of the box as standard part of our pre-delivery inspection. However we have found that a lot of times if you set a manual address and do not reboot the printer afterwards it will not recognize the network. Same if you switch from manual to DHCP, you should reboot to ensure it gets an address.
