PR #4490 changes almost every file in leo except for the files in leo/modes and leo/external. If I had this work to do over again, I would have made the migration to using ruff format using smaller PRs. But redoing the work now would create other problems.

Imo, the likelihood of serious bugs is small. ruff format is responsible for most changes, and I carefully reviewed all diffs during development.

In any event, I'll fix any bugs this PR creates in the usual way. Please report any problems immediately.

Future PRs will continue the migration towards ruff format in smaller steps. See Leo issue #4491.

Warning

For the next few days, devs who use @bool write-black-sentinels = True
should set: @bool beautify-python-code-on-write = False

That's because the latter setting invokes Leo's legacy beautifier instead of ruff format.

This warning will go away in the next day or so, per the schedule in  #4491.
The obvious workaround is not to use blackened sentinels until the dust settles.
