Turns out that the speedups announced for Python 3.11 are just the beginning.

Afaik, there are no python peps related to this project.

After a bit of searching I found the ideas/issues page. It is indeed quite a project :-)

For example, take a look at the stats in this comment, available only with a debug build of python.
