Dear lenstronomers,
and especially the creative folks among you :)

lenstronomy is not having a log yet. I would like to change that and invite the community to participate in the process of creating a logo.

Below I lay out the requirements and the process:

Requirements of the logo:
- relatable: In some form, the logo needs to be associated with the purpose of the code. This can be very abstract and no creativity limits are set.
- simplicity: The logo should be simple and no high-resolution format needed to be required to recognize all the aspects of it.
- uniqueness: No copy-right violations and a stand-alone aspect needs to be there
- recognizable: should in some form catch your eyes
- name does not necessarily appear in the logo, but there should be a version where this is doable to integrate (say at the bottom or top)

Process timeline:
- Initial submissions of logos are due by July 1st.
- Re-iteration on (down-) selected proposal(s) July-August
- Final decision on logo Sept 1st.

Communication and decisions:
I set up a public Slack channel #logo on the lenstronomer Slack space. Please join this channel if you want to contribute ideas or opinions. You can also post multiple ideas there and request feedback throughout the process. If you are not (yet) on the lenstronomer Slack channel and would like to join, please ping me such that I can add you!
I will post the proposals on that channel and the lenstronomy community is deciding democratically which logo is the one we want to go with.

Credits and prices:
- The creator(s) of the logo will get credit in the lenstronomy AUTHORS file. Usage of the logo should be open source as for the software.
- The final creator(s) will get a 100$ voucher of their wishes.
- All contributors/submitters of logo ideas will be acknowledged.

Feel free to send this call out to everyone you might think of.

Looking forward to hearing your ideas and suggestions!

Simon
