Hi all,
I am happy to announce a new lenstronomy release v1.4.0.
For most of you, this means minor or even no changes to your usage and workflow. All the modeling core routines remain the same.
Major changes are primary in the Galkin and Analysis modules.
All the extension notebooks are updated to this release version. Many of them did not need any updates after all.
Find below the release notes.
A big Thank You! to Anowar Shajib, Aymeric Galan and Ji Won Park for their significant contributions to this release.
Please let me know if you have questions, find bugs or features to be added.
Stay tuned for some community announcements soon!
Best,
Simon

lenstronomy v1.4.0 release notes
Analysis module:
- major over-halt of the kinematicsAPI module based on the new Galkin design (see Galkin module)
- minor changes in the TDCosmography module
Galkin module:
- redesign of ’numerical’ and ‘analytical’ module, both compatible with the main Galkin class
- added Integral field units aperture type
- added generalized Oviskov-Merritt anisotropy models
- renaming of anisotropy models
LensModel module:
- NIE model with consistent definitions of ellipticity and Einstein radius with SPEMD and SIE model.
- improved documentations for some profiles, including SIE, NIE, SPEMD, HERNQUIST
LightModel module:
- change and fix of cored Sersic profile
- consistent ellipticity-half light radii definitions and documentations
Cosmo module:
- removed Sampling sub-module (will reappear soon in an upcoming package!)
- renaming of angular diameter distance functions to follow PEP8 standard (e.g. D_dt -> ddt)
Sampling module:
- new interface for MPI and multi-threading options for PSO and MCMC sampling, both compatible with python3
- PSO sampling directly implemented in lenstronomy - CosmoHammer dependency is removed
Minor stability improvements and extended documentations
