on creating maps of deflection angles

Hi all,

Can I please ask how to create the fits files of deflection angle maps (preferably in HFF format, i.e., the 'x-arcsec-deflect', 'y-arcsec-deflect' files) using Lenstool? I've tried with adding the following sentence to the "runmode" identifier section, but it did not work.

        dpl 1 pix_num z file-x.fits file-y.fits

Also I was using Lenstool version 6.5 just in case it's useful information.

Dear Xin

It should work, at least in the latest version. v6.5 is quite an old version so I would suggest

to first try the v6.8.1 (from the webpage) or even the svn version.

Did you get an error message or is there an error in the files produced ?

Thanks for your reply! It turns out that it's the names of the fits files being too long which caused this problem.
