Hi,

I’ve been trying to figure out how to quickly make an image plane fits image from an input source plane fits image.
it seem “pixel” in the runmode section is the parameter I need to use, in particular using int1 = 2.
However I got stuck at trying to feed the source plane fits image using the sframe and cleanset parameters of the cleanlens section.
I’m wondering if there’s any more straightforward way to feed the source image? or any other methods that can do the job?

Thanks
TC

Dear Chian-Chou Chen

"pixel 2" in runmode with the sframe parameter in cleanset is the only way to do it in Lenstool but should be straightforward, as long as your source plane image:
- has WCS information matching the lens model
- is a single extension FITS file (no primary header)

For example a source plane FITS file produced by Lenstool as output from "source 1" and "pixel 1" in runmode would work.

You need to specify in cleanset 1 xx the redshift of the source plane as xx.

I copy an example below taken from a recent Lenstool presentation.

Best,

Johan

Hi Johan,

Thanks. I did exactly that (first screenshot) but got a complaint about not finding the image (second screenshot).
I think the problem, at least from the manual, appears to be that "cleanest 1” needs an input from imframe as well as an input for c_image because it’s to “compute from the image pixel-frame imframe the corresponding source frame sframe at redshift float” so I need to provide an input fits in the image plane.
The confusing part is it’s the image plane fits image that I need as an output with an input of a source plane fits image so things seem to go in loops…

Cheers,
TC

Hi

Pixel 2 is a relatively recent feature, are you using a recent installation (latest svn, v>7.1 or macports?

Your file looks fine you would not need any imframe etc just sframe.

If you have doubts please send me an example file(just change the pixel values if there is any sensitive info) and I could test it.

Best,

Johan

Thanks Johan,
Indeed it was the version issue - I was using 6.7.1 since I’ve been using it which has been working fine.
But now after the update all seem to work.

Cheers,
TC
