Dear lenstool-ers,
I am delighted to announce two events: The Lenstool days and a lensing workshop, both hosted in Liège/Belgium !
The two events will span a full week with the Lenstool days on the 20-21 of October AND the Scaling up Lensing Workshop on the 22-24 Oct 2025
-------- LENSTOOL DAYS WITHOUT REGISTRATION FEE
The lenstool days:
It is early for this, but I would appreciate an email response if you think you will join for the lenstool-days.
More will follow about the organisation of the lenstool days in due time.
---------- SCALING-UP LENSING WORKSHOP WITH REGISTRATION FEE
Workshop Announcement: Scaling up Lensing - Gravitational Lensing Modelling Techniques in Galaxies and Clusters
We are pleased to announce an upcoming workshop focused on gravitational lensing modelling techniques in galaxies and clusters, to be held in Liège from October 22nd to 24th, 2025.
About the Workshop
Lens
modelling is entering a transformative era, presenting new challenges
in accuracy, multi-band multi-instrument combination, automation, and
deployment to thousands of lenses. This workshop aims to bring together
leading researchers and modellers in the field to address these
challenges and maximise the scientific return of upcoming observations.
The
event will focus on current and upcoming modelling techniques and
algorithms, providing a comprehensive platform for discussing technical
improvements, sharing recent results, and fostering collaboration on
emerging challenges in lens modelling.
Key Themes
The workshop will cover several critical areas:
Recent Advances in Modelling Exploration
of recent work in galaxy- and cluster-scale modelling, including
improvements in physical models and multi-wavelength data integration.
Cross-Scale Methodologies Investigation
of the intersection between galaxy- and cluster-scale approaches, with
particular focus on group-scale modelling as a framework for comparing
reconstruction techniques.
Collaborative Lensing Challenge Preparation
of a collaborative challenge designed to test and advance techniques in
mass distribution reconstruction, very large-sample modelling, source
reconstruction, and multi-scale applications.
Infrastructure Optimization Discussion of database infrastructure improvements for lens data ingestion and enhanced usability.
Participation
While
hybrid participation will be available, we strongly encourage in-person
attendance to facilitate dynamic discussions and meaningful
collaborations. The workshop format is designed to promote interactive
engagement among participants and foster productive exchanges of ideas
and expertise.
Registration and Information
We
look forward to welcoming you to Liège for what promises to be an
engaging and productive workshop that will help shape the future of
gravitational lensing research.
