Thank you very much to all of you who have already responded to the LenCD strategic planning survey.  If you haven't already answered, I hope you will consider taking a few minutes to answer the survey today at:

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/lencd

This year marks an important point for LenCD and we would really appreciate your suggestions about the future of the network. To review and define the future strategic direction of the network, LenCD partners will convene in Kigali in February and we would very much like to have as broad a range of input as possible to that meeting, either in person or through the survey.

Thank you again to everyone who filled out the survey last month.  Your inputs were greatly appreciated by everyone involved and the results of the survey will be an important input to the discussions taking place in Kigali next week.  A summary of the survey results is available at the following link:

https://sites.google.com/site/lencdorg/documents-1/Surveyreportv4.doc

Some of the clear messages from the survey include that LenCD should serve as an information gateway, knowledge broker, and clearinghouse; promote formal learning opportunities; support networking and community building; and increase its practical, operational, and sectoral relevance while still engaging with high-level policy processes.  LenCD's neutrality and independence from any specific agency, and its potential to promote greater Southern involvement and ownership, were seen as important assets.  Areas noted for improvement included making the web site more attractive and easier to use, promoting the network more effectively, making all communications more systematic, clarifying its strategic focus and organisational structure, and becoming more inclusive.

Thanks again to everyone for your interest in and support of the network.
