Fujitsu dont make finding drivers terribly easy. Used the Intel Graphics driver from the Downloads area for a TX1310 M3 and got the resolution back. Thing is it was only in the last week the resoution went south
I went to System > Preferences > Screen Resolution to change it, but it was greyed out. The dropdowns "Screen Resolution", "Refresh Rate", etc were empty, and when you click on the thing to drop down the menu, the boxes grey out. Why is it blank/grey, and how can I change the screen resolution?
Help! The 2nd monitor connected to my desktop computer now has a greyed out screen resolution function so all the icons & text are huge! Happened a week after Windows 11 upgrade. (desktop is a HP Pavillion 24-xa 1009na All-in-One). thanks
I am unable to adjust the screen resolution of the host system or in the LogMeIn software. I was able to do this in a previous version of LogMeIn. The other anomaly I notice is that in the host system it shows 4 monitors connected when viewed from LogMeIn even though there are only two. When sitting at the host system it displays only 2 monitors in the settings menu which is correct. I want to change the resolution as my remote screen is 1366 x 768 but the host resolution is 1920 x 1020. I am running Windows 10 OS.
I can't change the resolution when I use Vulkan API. I also can't change the output screen. After changing to DirectX12 when I use VSync the entire game menu works in 2 FPS. I have to turn it off to use the game normally. But then, when I load the story mode and for example enter the map whole game freezes and my PC stops responding so I have to turn it off with the power button...
I tried changing to DX12 and with VSync off. It works and so far playable (resolution 1920x1200), if a bit wonky and not smooth at times. I have to put fullscreen back on every single time I log into game from a mini sized game with windows bordered.
This is due to my new monitor at home with 4K resolution. When I connect to Windows 10 I have to choose "use client resolution option" otherwise if I choose "custom resolution" option Remmina makes screen smaller but does not change resolution.
Recent remmina versions can set RDP remote windows desktop scaling factor. From the global preferences menu -> RDP. But you need an updated remmina version and an OS (windows 8.1 or higher) that supports scaling factor. Upgrade remmina following instructions on the main website We provide a PPA for ubuntu 16.04.If you already enabled local scaling on your local PC, and usually this is the case when using a 4K monitor, you should also play with the remmina scaler function to neutralize the Xorg/Unity scaling, because remmina can't currently do to it.
The driver is up to date, and both monitors have been properly identified. I can change the resolution on monitor two, and it's set to the recommended resolution of 1680x1050. However, when I choose monitor one, and scroll down to change the display resolution, it's greyed-out and stuck at 800x600. I made display number two my main display, then extended the displays. This did not work. When I duplicate the displays, it applies the 800x600 screen resolution from monitor number one across both monitors, instead of duplicating the resolution of monitor number two across both monitors. I also tried to make monitor number one my main display, then go back and duplicate the displays that way, which also did not work. I know this should be an easy fix, but I need help. Can you help me, please?
Eleven, thank you for getting back to me. I followed the instructions and got to the "List All Modes" setting, and 1680x1050 was indeed available, so I chose it from the list and applied it. The monitor re-set itself, and the" Display Resolution" drop down actually showed it had changed from 800x600 to 1680x1050. However, the screen was still on 800x600 when it came back on. It was up for about ten seconds, then the monitor shut down for a 2nd time. I went back to check the "List of Valid Modes", and noticed they were all now missing, except 640x480 and 800x600. I tried to switch it back to 800x600 to at least get the monitor back on, but now the "apply" button on the "adapter tab" is greyed out, and I cannot apply any of the remaining valid modes from the valid modes list. The monitor will not come back on now. Also, I just can't figure out how to upload the screenshots I took to add to this. So if you could show me how to do that, I'll upload them immediately. Thanks!
I tried both methods of resetting the monitor, but neither one worked. The only time the monitor will come on is when I change the resolution back to 800x600. Choosing any other resolution will send the monitor back into power saving mode and turn it off.
I need help with the display resolution on one of my three computer monitors. It doesn't allow me to change the display resolution. It's stuck on 640 x 480 and I need it to be 1920 x 1080. I followed the steps of your previous comments and still was unable to change the display resolution. See screenshots below:
I am running 2 Novatech VGA screens connected via their individual HDMI - VGA adaptors to Dell laptop. I had the same problem after disconnecting my laptop and then reconnecting a couple of days later. I managed to resolve the issue by unplugging both screens and reconnecting them one at a time. The 'active screen resolution' for both screens then read the same as the 'recommended screen resolution' .
Some people report an issue in Windows that does not let them change the resolution settings. There could be several reasons why the resolution settings are not available in Windows. One possible reason is that the graphics driver is not properly installed or is out of date. In this case, the system may not be able to detect the graphics hardware and display the available resolution settings.
It is also possible that the resolution settings are grey because of a Windows update. Some people also report that the problem appeared after connecting a new monitor to their PC. To resolve this issue, the first step would be to check if the graphics driver is properly installed and up to date. You can do this by going to the Device Manager and checking the status of the graphics driver.
in this guide, you will find 5 steps that should help you fix screen resolution settings greyed out in Windows. Keep in mind that the manual troubleshooting process can be lengthy. To avoid it, you can use a maintenance tool like FortectMac Washing Machine X9. It can fix most system errors, BSODs,[1] corrupted files, registry[2] issues, or clear cookies and cache[3] automatically. Otherwise, follow the step-by-step instructions below.
The screen resolution needs adjusting on my dell monitor (all icons are massive), but in the display settings the slider for resolution is immovable and all options under the Monitor tab are greyed out and unavailable. I have downloaded new drivers after reinstalling xp on my dell dimension 2400 series desktop. The trouble is the new drivers won't install, the file just sits there. It seems to be just a user guide although says it is an .exe file. Is there a trick to getting the software to run?
Lawks, now I find my audio configuration are stymied since my reinstall of windows. I have run the Dell driver resource disk but to no avail. Can you recommend how to get the audio driver back? Thanks, have a good day.
I think it automatically uses whatever your monitor is set to. So I went out and right clicked on my desktop and selected nvidia control panel and changed my monitor resolution. When i logged back into Diablo, it used my new monitor setting.
EXACTLY THIS ^^^^. For me it was day 1 and the game ran perfect, the next day I logged on and it ran like trash and I could not change resolution in game. It CAN be changed in game because it was in the beta so hearing this nonsense about dx12 makes no sense.
As far as resolution I can only answer that it can be changed if you change your windows desktop resolution (crappy adjustment), or you can play in regular windowed mode and change the size of the window.
Are there any updates to this? I use borderless gaming to resize the window within my G9, but with the resolution STILL being greyed out, it breaks it and makes my mouse off from where it actually is. This is the ONLY game it happens to.
Usually, changing screen resolution is one of the easiest things to do for Windows users. Just right-click on the Desktop -> Display Settings -> Advanced Display Settings, and you will see Screen Resolution settings with many resolution options to choose from. However, many users reported that the screen resolution option is grayed out after they installed or upgraded to Windows 10.
Hi, I'm trying to help a friend set up a custom resolution, but the button is greyed out. To be specific, they did turn off DSR and the scaling. The Customize button was clickable and the next window came up, but "Create Custom Resolution" was greyed out and we can't tell why.
Usually, you should be able to change the display resolution from Windows settings without any problem. But, for some users, the option is not clickable or greyed out. If the resolution is terrible, it may ruin your experience. So, you should take steps to solve it.
Some particular updates may create problems on specific computers. If you are getting the Windows display resolution greyed out issue after updating the OS to the latest version, uninstalling it may solve the problem.
Changing resolution within UEFI-configuration is possible but has no effect during installation. The whole installation process of a Windows VM can only be done with 1280x1024, so you are forced to use big monitors to succeed with the installation of Windows Server 2016 and as you cannot change the resolution during installation, you are also stuck at 1280x1024, when Windows is fully installed and Nutanix Guest Tools, as well as VirtIO drivers are installed.
