UTF-8 error typing a double quote

I use Leksah 1.15.1.4 on Windows 64 bits

If I type in the Leksah editor "blah", I get very small " 's and the error message is: Lexical error in string/character illegal (UTF-8 encoding error).

If I type the same string in notepad++ and copy and paste it to Leksah everything is fine. What can I do?

To answer my own question

If I change the keyboard setting from US international to US solves the problem.

In Notepad++ I don't have to change the keyboard layout. So Notepad++ does something that Leksah lacks...?
