I am trying to add Telugu font to photoshop but it keeps displaying it with matras separated. I tried changing the text engine and changing the language to Telugu in the character window and selecting various Telugu fonts and the issue pertains. Please see how the text appears in the layer preview (appears correct) vs actual image. Thank you for your help.
If you have set the text engine to word ready and set the language with proper font it should work fine. What is your version of PS. I tested by copying over a telugu text from web and pasted it in PS and i see correct results(visually, don't know to read and write), you can confirm by looking at the following. My PS version is 21.1.3 on a MAC
ADOBE PREMIERE PRO: Open New project, open EDIT-PREFERENCES-GRAPHICS-TEXT ENGINE. Under Text Engine there are two preferences. (i) European & East AsIan, (ii) South Asian & Middle Eastern. When I selected the (ii) South Asian & Middle Eastern, I am able to type my language Telugu Fonts most perfectly.
ADOBE PHOTO SHOP: Open New Project, Open EDIT/PREFERENCES/TYPE/CHOOSE TEXT ENGINE OPTIONS. Under 'choose text engine options', there are two preferences. (i) Latin & East Asian Layout, (ii) World Ready Layout. When I selected the (ii) World Ready Layout, I am able to type my language Telugu Fonts most perfectly.
SUCH TEXT ENGINE PREFERNCES ARE NOT AVAILABLE IN VEGAS PRO. WHEN I SEARCHED IN YOUTUBE FOR TUTORIALS, I SEE EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT "how to add custom fonts to Vegas Pro, directing to Da Fonts, Da Vinci Fonts etc., for English fonts.
SO WHEN I AM NOT ABLE TO MAKE TITLES IN MY OWN LANGUAGE IN VEGAS PRO, WHAT IS THE USE OF VEGAS PRO TO CUSTOMERS LIKE ME IN THE WORLD. I DONT KNOW WHY MAGIX IS BLIND AND NOT ABLE TO WATCH ITS IMMEDIATE COMPETITOR ADOBE'S SOFTWARES AND UPDATE VEGAS PRO ACCORDINGLY? I FEEL VEGAS PRO IS INTERESTED IN ONLY ENGLISH FONTS AND MAY BE SOME CHINESE OR KORIAN, JAPAN FONTS. BUT WHAT ABOUT US INDIANS? SO NOW I AM DEPRESSED AND FEELING PAIN AND REGRETS FOR WASTING SO MUCH MONEY FOR PURCHASING MAGIX VEGAS PRO. WILL THE MAGIX LISTEN TO MY REGRETS AND WORK UPON TO IMPROVE VEGAS PRO IN THESE LINES?
AND I FEEL MAGIX ALSO MUST AVOID ATTACHING SOME FREEBEE SOFTWARES OF OTHERS WHICH DO NOT WORK PROPERLY AND DIRECT TO PURCHASE THEM SEPARATELY AS I FEEL NO ONE IS A CHILD HERE TO BE ATTRACTED TO SUCH DOG-BISCUITS. I THINK ADOBE DOESN'T DO SUCH TYPE OF MARKETING GIMMICKS. SO MANY PEOPLE LIKE ME, SLOWLY WILL DRIFT TOWARDS ADOBE, LEAVING VEGAS PRO IF MAGIX WON'T CARE TO IMPROVE THEIR VEGAS SOFTWARE TO A COMPETING LEVEL.
I ALREADY HAVE DOWNLOADED SILICON ANDHRA FONTS YOU SHOWED, TELUGU PHONETIC GOOGLE INPUT TOOLS FONTS AND ALL TYPES OF TELUGU FONTS ARE WORKING TRULY EXCELLENT IN MY ADOBE PREMIER PRO, ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR, ADOBE PHOTOSHOP, ADOBE AFTER EFFECTS. BUT NOT AT ALL WORKING IN VEGAS PRO IN THE SAME PC under the same circumstances. I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS THE REASON. AND I DON'T KNOW WHY VEGAS PRO NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT PROVIDING TEXT-ENGINE-OPTIONS LIKE ADOBE. SEE, HOW APPLE AND MICROSOFT ARE WORKING COMPETITIVELY. I FEEL MAGIX must also watch it's competitor ABOBE's softwares and update MAGIX Softwares atleast equally if not better than.
Thanks for your immediate response, (I DOWNLOADED ALL TYPES OF TELUGU FONTS AND INSTALLED THEM IN 'C' FONTS FOLDER AND ALL THE FONTS ARE APPEARING CORRECTLY IN ALL ADOBE SOFTWARES AND TYPING PERFECTLY. Even I uninstalled and re-installed Vegas Pro many times and tried your way through google translation from English to Telugu, then copy & paste the same into the title frame. But corrupt typing is shown in my Vegas Pro. Please tell me is there any ticking or unticking or text-engine-options I have to correct in my Vegas Pro 17. I FEEL IF MAGIX INCLUDES TEXT-ENGINE-PREFERNCES LIKE ADOBE, SUCH PROBLES AS MINE, WILL BE SOLVED PERMANENTLY.
I already tried Google translator from English to Telugu. But when typed in Vegas Pro Titles & Text, Legacy Text, or pasted the Telugu version from Google translator into the typing area and selecting the right telugu font downloaded and installed in fonts folder of my computer's 'c", the words typed with one space gap or thrown to many spaces gap and also letter's edges are broken away in preview window of my Vegas Pro 17. But all titles are super fine in all Adobe Softwares without using Google translator and directly typing selecting Telugu fonts installed, in the same PC. Not able to understand the reason why Vegas Pro 17 is not able to do that. May be if Magix adds text-engine-preferences as I discussed in earlier message, this problem may be solved forever. Please advice whether I am not doing any settings in Vegas Pro 17.
My personal feeling is that a missing regional font is not a condemnation of the whole software, nor does it constitute a notion of bias. There are many fonts not included in Vegas; your Adobe fonts may be among them.
However, if you would like to rephrase and repurpose your rant as a "Feature Request," framed politely and in recognition of the fact that you are dealing with human beings, it will be seen and considered by the developers for inclusion in future releases.
You may find, as I did, that this approach is more versatile and sometimes cleaner than Vegas' built in text generators. With a little practice, this should serve you well until your much-anticipated Feature Request has had time to be looked at and considered by the Vegas Developers, who are real human beings, as well.
Thankyou very much sir for your advice. I am a musician and self learner to writer Telugu Titles intros about the following music videos. And I never gone into the Vegas software except to some extent with respect to titles. My journey started with Vegas Pro 12 when it was given free with a purchase of Sony Camera NX-30. I purchased Vegas 14 Suite, then at last 17 suite. My purpose is only titles. Thinking to purchase Magix Vegas Pro 18 if it solves my Telugu Titles problem. Let us see Sir. Even if MAGIX gives an update to my Vegas Pro 17 suite, including the Text-engine-preferences. Thanks you Sir for your advice.
Thankyou very much Sir for your advice. You took time to advice me Thankyou Sir. Now I am doing the same thing. In Adobe Photoshop I am writing a Telugu Title on transparent background, exporting as PNG, then, taking that PNG into the time line of my Vegas Pro 17, and adding some background and faders at both ends with some BCC transitions, then adding my stage music video next to the titles. For example,
But my feeling is bearing two costly software ADOBE and Vegas Pro for titles, at my retired age of 70 years is somewhat heavy on my purse is not it sir. I was struggling with titles in Vegas Pro from the year 2010 when I got Vegas Pro 12 but I never expressed on this forum until I could notice the existence of text engines in Adobe and non-existence of text engine preferences in Vegas Pro very recently and I am doing Telugu Titles only from the last one month when I touched Adobe and learnt about its Text Engine preferences. Thankyou Sir. Hoping my problem with titles may reach MAGIX and hope they would bring some update before I leave this world. Thankyou Sir.
But with Legacy Text font which must be turned back on via 'Deprecated features' section, I noticed that it appears correctly. I also testing the optional 3rd party texting tool NewBlueFX Titler Pro 6.
Probably the font data contains two letters but VP only showing the first one but I don't know the detail. I remember someone also take note of other Asian fonts which is not correctly shown, probably Korean letters but I agree if this has to be fixed. I'll forward to developers.
For now, the best way to insert the text seems using Legacy Text (from my observation) or graphic insert... however, if there is another incorrect letter shown in Legacy text, paste that problematic character here. More specific info provided can help understanding the issue.
Thanks a lot brother you have understood my difficulty completely as if you are my own native person. I tried that also, turning on Legacy Text with the help of Deprecated features, still the same problem exists. Thanks for taking the issue with the developers. I think by the time of release of Vegas Pro 19, this may be solved by the developers with your initiation. Then I can purchase Vegas Pro 19. Thankyou once again for understanding my problem completely. God bless you. I tried the same fonts that you checked (Dhurjati, Srikrushnadevaraya) and attaching here how they look in the Legacy writing window and preview window.
