Leigheas Celtic Band - The Leigheas play Irish and Scottish Tunes!!

The Name of our band is "Leigheas" (pronounced as lay-huss) which is Irish for Medicine and Healing as we consist of physicians, dentist, paramedic, music therapist, clinical psychologist, research scientists, and a few Boy Scouts for good measure who spend their days and occasional nights and next day afterwards caring and curing the ill.

In between, we are committed to the preservation and transmission of the traditional dance music and cultures of Ireland, Scotland, and their Diaspora in the new world. We are all located in the Tidewater/Hampton Roads area of Virginia (Norfolk and Virginia Beach).

Third Thursday

Mar 17, 2016
5:00 PM - 10:00 PM

At the Museum from 5 p.m
At the Glass Studio from 8 p.m.
Open til 10 p.m.

At the Museum, we celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a special Chrysler Collection tour, Bottoms Up: Drinking Through the Ages. The local band Leigheas enlivens our shamrock celebration with Irish jigs and reels and traditional Celtic favorites.

At the Perry Glass Studio, we’re going Cajun as guest artist Jimmy Vella of N’awlins whips up some hot-glass Jambalaya to the Big Easy sounds of the Hot Gumbo Brass Band.

Due to standing-room-only Third Thursday crowds, admission tickets are now required for entrance to the Studio. Pick up yours at the Studio doors beginning at 6 p.m. on the night of the event, and be advised tickets tend to go fast.

Third Thursday is free for Museum Members and students with current ID, $5 for all others. There's a cash bar at both locations.

Third Thursday is generously sponsored by The Capital Group Companies and Virginia Natural Gas/AGL Resources.
