With AutoCAD Map 3D, you can apply industry-specific standards and business process requirements, using configurable data models for electric, gas, water, and wastewater.
Mapping and integrated spatial and network analysis make it easier to create stylized drawings and maps that highlight specific features, such as service areas, zoning districts, land usage, pipe and cable installation dates, diameter, and more. AutoCAD Map 3D also supports design to as-built data flow to GIS, and other applications. AutoCAD Map 3D can integrate with other operational systems such as customer care, ERP, outage, and work and asset management systems.

The new Autodesk InfraWorks (formerly Autodesk Infrastructure Modeler) software provides innovative 3D modeling and visualization technology for desktop, web, and mobile that goes beyond traditional computer-aided drafting (CAD)-based workflows prevalent today in the civil infrastructure industry. Autodesk InfraWorks allows civil engineers and planners to design within the context of the real-world environment, helping to deliver projects, both large and small, by more efficiently managing even large scale infrastructure models. Autodesk InfraWorks helps design by engineering in 3D from the start, collaborating with a broad set of stakeholders using cloud and mobile technologies, and communicating in new and visually compelling ways.
New road and highway design capabilities for Autodesk InfraWorks will help civil engineers and designers optimize their design process, speed project delivery and reduce costs by tapping into a new cloud-based service that automates engineering calculation and designs. This enables engineers and designers to develop engineering models in 3D from the start to help confirm scope, budget and schedule. These capabilities are the first in a series of modules that will expand the functionality of Autodesk InfraWorks for select industry segments.
Autodesk also announced Autodesk ReCap, a new solution to speed the creation of intelligent 3D models based on laser scans, photographs and other forms of reality capture. The norm today in most civil infrastructure design processes is to begin a project with a blank screen on a workstation. Autodesk ReCap will leverage the power of the cloud to make it dramatically easier for civil engineers and designers to add, modify, validate and document their design process in context from existing environments, and start with a model of reality instead of a blank page. Seamlessly integrated with Autodesk Design and Creation Suites, including Autodesk Infrastructure Design Suite, Autodesk ReCap makes it easy to clean, organize, and visualize the massive datasets captured from reality.
Autodesk InfraWorks, Autodesk ReCap and the full portfolio of software and cloud services for civil infrastructure are available as part of the 2014 Autodesk Infrastructure Design Suite; which allows infrastructure professionals to choose the best tool for the job at hand and better respond to changing business requirements. The new 2014 Autodesk Infrastructure Design Suite is a comprehensive set of BIM for infrastructure software and cloud services. It combines tools to enable intelligent, model-based processes that help deliver more accurate, accessible, and actionable insight throughout the project execution and lifecycle of transportation, land, and water projects.
Three editions of the suite are available and provide access to a range of software including Autodesk AutoCAD 2014, Autodesk AutoCAD Map 3D 2014, Autodesk AutoCAD Raster Design 2014, Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis 2014, Autodesk Navisworks Simulate 2014, Autodesk Navisworks
Manage 2014, Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2014, Autodesk 3ds Max Design 2014, Autodesk Revit Structure 2014, Autodesk AutoCAD Utility Design 2014, and Autodesk 360 cloud services. New additions for the 2014 Autodesk Infrastructure Design Suite (varying by edition) include Autodesk Bridge Module, Autodesk Geotechnical Module, Autodesk Rail Layout Module and Autodesk River and Flood Analysis Module (available with an Autodesk Subscription); Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Pro 2014, Autodesk Revit 2014, and the new Autodesk Roads and Highways Module for InfraWorks. Autodesk 360 cloud services are available to all Suites users, with additional services, including Rendering, Structural Analysis for Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Green Building Studio, Energy Analysis for Autodesk Revit and Autodesk InfraWorks 360 (formerly Autodesk Infrastructure Modeler for Web), available to users who purchase an Autodesk Subscription.
Autodesk Infrastructure Design Suite 2014 availability varies by country, with software and cloud services included varying by edition. Details and purchasing options are available at www.autodesk.com/purchaseoptions. Autodesk Recap is available to all users of the Autodesk Infrastructure Design Suite. Autodesk InfraWorks 2014 is sold separately, or as part of the Premium and Ultimate editions of the Autodesk Infrastructure Design Suite, as well as the Ultimate edition of the Autodesk Building Design Suite. The Autodesk Roads and Highways Module for InfraWorks is available to users of the Premium edition of the Autodesk Infrastructure Design Suite.
