Hey gang,
Get ready! It's going to be an awesome semester.
Here are a few tidbits on prepping up:
Statistically, the majority of freshmen experience the greatest drop in GPA second semester, especially if rushing/pledging.
Use Weingarten (aka pro time schedulers/ tutor hook-ups/time consultants/life coaches). It can only help and you're already paying for it!
Spring Activities Fair
There are 300+ student groups at Penn. Check them out in person at the Spring Activities Fair (Houston Hall: Sunday, Jan, 20. 11AM to 2PM). You're bound to find one that interests you. Be picky as hell though or else you'll sign up for more than you can handle.
If you're interested in joining a Frat or Sorority, check out these guys. Their major job is to help you through the process and are pros at giving unbiased advice. Their especially helpful if you experience any hazing whatsoever, which is against
university policy. Moreover, no one would ever know if you reported it. If you have any questions or concerns, hit me up.
Penn (aka. The Social Ivy)
Fraternity & Sorority life is only a fraction of all the awesomeness at Penn (only 1/4 of all guys are in a fraternity; 1/5 of women in a sorority). You'll notice there will be a bunch of events/activities/groups to get involved in this semester from Spring Fling to Class Formals.
These are both great resources to get books for class. They may not have everything, but you can save a lot of money using them.
Leidy/Brooks
Last but not least, we have $115 dollars a month to do almost whatever we want! The only requirement is that we have fun and we do it together. Let me know how you envision spending this. Insomnia Cookies? Trip to Reading Terminal? Let me know! Also, office hours will continue to be every Sunday at 9PM.
Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. If I can't help you, I'm sure I can hook you up with someone who can.
