Shortbus Bio:

Real Name: Luke Powell
Derby Name: Shortbus
Number: 0
Position Played: Pivot
Team: Dallas Deception

I have been skating since I was 10. I was a speed skater from the
start, and still love it to this day. I have done both inline and ice
and would like to eventually go back to it some day. Those two sports
are the reason why I am able to train and skate the way I do. I was
always known as an endurance skater during the speed days. I was able
to carry it over to derby going all the way to playing a whole game
as
pivot (Harm City will vouch for that).
It was an honor to be asked to come out to Hawaii and teach a speed
and endurance clinic. I am super stoked and cannot wait till
January.
I hope everyone is ready for this ultra RAD event!

I play ice hockey and while consuming a few sodas during the summer of
2006, I saw a flyer for roller derby and it's kinda taken over my
life. My style of skating comes from hockey & I'm looking forward to
teaching you my antics!

Wile E. Peyote Bio:

Real Name: Sarah O'Donoghue
Derby Name: Wile E. Peyote
Number: 21g
Position: Jammer and Blocker (stellar at both)
Team: Sockit Wenches and Rat City All Stars

Originally from Ottawa, Canada, this is Wile E.'s 4th season with Rat
City and third season on the Rat City All-Star team. She has been
named MVP in a number of games and has also been awarded her team's
best jammer (2008 and 2009) as well as the league's best jammer in
2008. She has played extensively throughout the country (and Canada),
and is known for her speed and agility as a jammer, and tenacity as a
blocker. She has even been compared to a Jack Russel Terrier in her
determination and ignorance of her petite size, as she fearlessly goes
after much larger skaters, although part of her sports prowess and
fire is from a life spent around hockey (again, blame Canada). Wile E.
has taught Gear 101, Pain Management, and strategy workshops at
Rollercon, Blood and Thunder, and for a number of local Seattle
leagues. She has coached on-skates classes for Rat City, Hawaii
leagues, and at Australia boot-camps.

Wile E. is a huge driving force behind the conception of Leid on the
Track. Her love for spreading derby sisterhood throughout, not only
the nation, but internationally, is an inspiration to us all.

Carmen Getsome Coach Bio:

Real Name: Lacy Evans
Derby Name: Carmen Getsome
Position: Jammer and Blocker
Team: Grave Danger and Rat City All Stars

Carmen has a bachelor's degree in exercise science and works as an
exercise specialist in a physical therapy clinic. Drawing from
exercise expertise, she has created two awesome workout DVDs designed
to help keep skaters strong in order to compete more effectively in
derby (less prone to injury). This amazing lady has taught on and off
skates classes all around the world (Rollercon, Blood and Thunder New
Zealand and Washington, and in Australia in aug/sept 2010). She has
been the head of the Rat City training committee for 2 years, runner-
up for NW MVP 2009, Rat City league MVP 2008 and 2009 and the league
best jammer 2009. Carmen created and ran the very successful "Rat City
Roller Girls" 6 week bacon camp. She started Team Legit (flat trackers
who play on the bank and crush....they took second in the "National
Banked Track Tournament".She is the captain of her home team Grave
Danger and the Rat City travel team. To explain her athleticism can
not compare to actually experiencing her presence on the track first
hand, but in an attempt, she is an incredible blocker, jammer,
strategic player, great coach/instructor, feared on the track, and
just a wonderful person!

Eric RAWK
WFTDA Certified Referee Level 5

RAWK is about to conclude his 5th season as a WFTDA Official, during
which time he's traveled around the United States multiple times for
flat track roller derby. If he hasn't officiated a bout for a league
in your state, he's probably worked with or mentored the officials in
one of the leagues. He was the Head Referee of Gotham GIrls Roller
Derby for 2 years and a referee in the league for another year as well
as being a referee for the Rat City Roller Girls, the Long Island
Roller Rebels and the Angel City Derby GIrls for a year each. RAWK
served as an infield referee at Dust Devil 2 (Western Regionals 07),
Eastern Regionals 07, 08 and 09, Western Regionals 08 and 09,
Nationals 07, 08 and 09, and as the Tournament Head Ref of Western
Regionals 09 and Nationals 09. This year he will be a referee at North
Central Regionals and (hopefully) Championships and the Tournament
Head Referee of Western Regionals. Presently Eric RAWK is the Western
Region Panel Member of the WFTDA Referee Certification Committee and
has played a significant role in writing all three Rules Tests for the
committee. He created the structure of the GGRD Officiating Crew,
played a significant role in creating the refereeing system used by
the Rat City Roller Girls and has helped officials from around the
world to improve their abilities.
