Hey all -
Since I'm back in the area and the game's been languishing in recent years, (and since the current version of the site is being deprecated in May,) I figured I'd try and work something up that teaches the game in a quicker, simpler fashion.
One thought I had was to try and write things in a simpler, more conversational fashion, and provide links throughout for the more nitty-gritty breakdown on how exactly to apply the rules in certain cases.

Along those lines, I figured it might be nice to have a mascot or character to introduce you to the game - to break up the wall of text with a conversational bubble to give examples of how the concept under discussion would be applied in the game, etc.
Thus, I bring you my first draft - I call him Commander Crom.
Not sure if I like the flat cartooneyness of the left better or the lit render on the right. He's got 4 expressions available, and I may actually make a punky pirate chick as a counterpart for him.
What say you all?
