Slide #2: Materials
In order to play this game you will need:

• At least 2 people willing to fight each other via small,
plastic spaceships.

• 6‐sided, 8‐sided, and 12‐sided die.
The more the better.

•A Lego ruler‐ measurements will be in stud distances.

•Paper and pencil/pen, because you have to keep track of
stuff.

•Two or more small fleets of microscale Lego spaceships.

•An area of play. It can be anywhere you have a flat
surface.

Slide #3: The Player Turn

First, decide the order of players. Roll of dice is good.

During a player’s turn, they direct only one ship at a Hme. Each ship may move and
do one action (either aMacking or iniHaHng an acHve ability).

A ship does not have to do anything if desired, and it is also able to only move OR
do one action. The action may take place at any point during movement— before,
after, or even in‐between movement.

Once the player has gone through with the transactions for every ship, his or her
turn is over. Unless specially noted, a player may not do anything during the turns
of others.

Slide 4: The Player field

Basically all you need is a large flat area. Anything smaller than

3 square feet is probably too small. Don’t make it too big—

ships can get out of the battle too easily. Make it just large

enough so that when the teams begin, they won’t really be in

range to attack each other (the excepHon is the beam weapon,

but don’t worry about that now).

.

Also, debris adds interest and strategy. Asteroids, chunks of lost spaceships, and other space trash all make great obstacles to zoom and shoot around.

Slide #5: Objectives

For the most part, the objective of this game is to ‘kill

everything that moves.’ This is easy, quick, and fun. If

you want to add another element to your gameplay

however, consider a more complex objecHve or goal for

a team to reach. Some ideas:

• First team to 10 kills

• Defend a civilian ship (and the other team(s) aMack)

• Last a certain amount of turns against a large

opponent

Assign point values for different ships and keep track of

score that way

Slide #6: The Argument Rule

This is pretty basic. If you and your teammates

get in an argument and can’t come to a

conclusion, roll dice. Whoever rolls highest

gets their way. That simple. Keeps the game

moving.

This rule is inspired by Brikwars’ ‘What I Say

Goes Rule.’ Thank you Mike.

Slide #7: Spacecraft

There are three spacecraft classifications: Strike Craft Frigates, and Specialty ships. When targeting ships, classification is taken into consideraHon. See the attacking portion for more info on Accuracy.

Strike Craft are the smallest battle‐capable ships

in your fleet. They should be on a stand that is

2x2 studs, and should be no larger than 2x2x3

stud dimensions. Strike craft have a single

weapon slot. Strike craft may ONLY equip

autoguns, light turrets, lasers, bombs, and light

missiles.

Note that the scale on the frigates and strike craft are off. The dimensions of the strike craft actually

represent an entire squadron of ships.

Frigates are the power of your fleet. They should

rest on a stand that is either 3x3 or 4x4 studs, and

should have dimensions no larger than 4x2x8 studs.

Frigates are medium/large sized, and have slots for

2 weapons. Frigates may use all weapons except

autoguns, lasers, and bombs. If desired, a frigate

may spend both of its weapon slots to equip 3 light

turrets.

Specialty Ships are meant to be ships that don’t fill

the normal roles. Neutral ships, space staHons, and

other miscellany things go into this category. They

rarely have any weapons and can have stats of

variable amounts. On stat cards indicate whether

the specialty ship is small or large, based upon size

restricHons on frigates and strike craft.

Slide 8: Stats and Application

Each ship has a certain set of stats.

These stats are:

• Name [name] – Either a

classification or a personalized name

for the ship.

• ClassificaHon [small, large, or

specialty (S or L)] – You know what

this is.

• Armor [number value] – The

amount of damage a ship can take

before it explodes in a massive

fireball! (P.S. fire does not exist in

space)

• Speed [stud value] – The number

of studs a ship may move in a turn.

• Weapons [names] – More on these

later.

That's cool - where's this from?  And why's the text formatting so odd?  But yeah, send more on!  I just went to my first meeting of a Little Rock Game Designer's club, and it's mainly for tabletopping, and it's much easier to get something semi-pro / self-publishable these days.  Maybe the time has come to blow the dust off, re-invest time into this thing, and make something of it.

I found it on an old hard drive that I must have downloaded a long time ago and I forgot about it.

I copied and pasted from the .pdf and did my best to fix it but either the paste fowled up or the origin did.  Not sure.

Anyway, didn't realize I could post attachments or I would have saved myself the problems.
And of course it is too big too post here.

This sounds interesting - what does MSW stand for, btw?  Micro Space Wars or something?  I'm not finding it anywhere on google, thanks to Masters of Social Work like my sister and roommate and everyone else.  (jerks.)  Dropbox?  or you could upload it to Google Drive?

I went through it and recreated it in a modern format while compressing the pics.  Please refer to the attached.

Thanks for doing that, man!  That's pretty interesting stuff, and it reminds me that I can just do a top-line version of the rules for new-player-introduction purposes.  (I get a little overwhelmed when I think about writing the whole thing up at times.)  I know we have a good deal more info, but I think challenging myself to get 1-page versions of the overall rules and then of the often-used rules would be a good exercise for me.  Anyway, yeah, that was cool - thanks again!
