CLC LEGAL AID SOCIETY presents a discussion and film screening

SLUMS IN DELHI Human Rights and Government Accountability

SPEAKERS:  Shabnam Sultana and Zahir Ahmad (Hazards Center) Short Films:  Hum Se Bhi Hai Sheher, New Delhi Private Ltd, BRT Shabnam and Zahir have been working with Dunu Roy at Hazards Centre on the issue of rights of slum-dwellers and the various government policies that seek to evict and resettle them. They challenge the dominant judicial and administrative mindsets which try to make Delhi a “world-class city” by excluding the urban poor. While sharing their experiences with us, Shabnam and Zahir,  will also offer law students opportunities to volunteer on these projects and gain legal expertise around these issues.
