WEEKLY EMAIL

We are excited to announce...
JrHi Parents you will begin to receive a weekly email update from Addison. Now that Addison is settling into his ministry role at Legacy he wants to begin communicating with our JrHi parents on a regular basis.  For the next few weeks, as a JrHi parent or student, you may still receive this HS email because we want our 8th grade students and parents to know what is coming up for our HS Ministry this summer.  There are summer registrations and information available.  We hope that this will be a blessing to you and your family as the HS and JrHi Ministries work together to communicate to you opportunities to Connect, Grow, and Live as followers of Christ.  ....Jason

WILDERNESS TREK 2013
There doesn't seem to be much interest in Trek this year. That's ok we have a busy summer and a two big mission trips (Honduras & Fortress). I have had 1 confirmed student with payment, and 1 other through a text.  We need a group of 11 to make a Legacy Group trip.  So...we will postpone until next year.  If interest does come up as summer approaches we can revisit the idea of taking a Trek Trip this summer.  However, please make plans now to attend Trek Summer 2014, every High School student should go on Trek one time before graduation. It's just that awesome!

FORTRESS MISSION 2013
STILL WANT TO JOIN THE FORTRESS TEAM? Here's a great way to get involved in Mission work right here in our own area. Legacy is a huge supporter of FORTRESS.  This summer our HS group will be involved with a weeklong mission project at FORTRESS.  We will be working with children, leading VBS type events, playing games, leading worship times, and more!  June 23-28. Don't miss this opportunity! Register NOW

HS SUNDAY FOLLOW UP...
Bible Class Last Sunday

Dear parents, we continued our family series in our Sunday Morning Class this week by talking about the priority of understanding one another and doing so honestly. Paul offers wisdom in Colossians 3 on creating healthy relationships that are filled with such Christ-like traits as patience, humility, forgiveness, and love. These traits can help teens become more understanding toward other family members. Our goal was to help our students examine their families and search for ways to build greater understanding and healthier relationships.  I'd encourage you to take some time this week to read Colossians 3:12-15 on your own and then discuss your observations with your teen. Here are some possible questions to ask:

  • What situations create the greatest moments of honesty in our family, and which situations seem to hinder honesty?
  • What can I do help encourage more honesty in our family? How can we work together on this?

Discuss ways you can be more understanding and honest with one another as you seek to better realize what it means to be a parent and a teen in today's culture. Talk about how you can pray for one another and take a moment to do so together. Remember, you're always welcome to call or email me if there are any ways I can pray for you or your family. Have a blessed week! ...Jason
