World Religions
No this isn't a college course! ...But it should be! This week our Sunday Mornings launched a five-lesson study on world religions as we participate in Missions Month at Legacy. Each week we will examine a particular religions major beliefs and then compare them to the Bible-our ultimate written authority as Christians. Over the course of the study we will look at atheism, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, and Mormonism. This week Chuck Shive examined atheism, or the belief that there is no God. We used Romans 1:19-20 as the primary text for our lesson. We discussed some of the primary arguments that atheists use to say that there is no God. We talked about how it requires faith to believe God exists, but when you look at the evidence, it takes even more faith to believe God doesn't exist. I'd encourage you to find a few minutes this week to talk with your student about this week's lesson and how God may be able to move through your teenager to talk to friends who don't believe God exists. Here are some questions you could use during your conversation:
- Some atheists use the argument that Christians only believe in God because they need a "crutch" for psychological or emotional support. How would you respond to this critique?
- What's the best way to pray for a friend or family member who is an atheist, and why?

BOULDER (Sevens) MISSION
It's back! After a few years off, we are going back to Boulder for a mission trip. We have had many requests about this awesome mission trip and this year since its our every other year with Trek we are going to Boulder to serve and minister to the homeless population through Sevens Ministry. The trip will be July 26-Aug 2nd. This trip is for High School Students, but we can only take 15 people so registration will be 1st come. Cost of this mission is around $300. We will have an interest meeting on March 19th at 8:05P so watch for updates and information. SAVE THE DATE NOW. Registration will begin at the interest meeting on March 19th. Spots will be held by deposit only, plus requirements must be met in order to attend this mission. More details March 19th.

STEAMBOAT...
ONE WEEK!!! Just a reminder....You should be leaving this coming weekend! This time next week we will be on the slopes in STEAMBOAT COLORADO! Get excited! I will be sending out the final information once I have received it from the travel planners. Make this week easier...start setting out clothes, packing, and making your list of trip needs now! And drink lots of water!
