Growing Together and Getting in SHAPE...
Dear parents....This week we wrapped up our five-part series on how God has created each of us to serve him and other people. Our lesson focused on the fifth letter of the SHAPE acronym-our experiences. God uses our experiences to shape us for ministry. A painful experience can give us compassion toward others who are hurting. A joyful experience can give us a deeper sense of celebration when others succeed. A victorious experience can give us insight on how to encourage a friend who's going through a tough time. In this lesson, we encouraged our teenagers to see how their past experiences can prepare them for future opportunities to honor God and serve others. When you have time this week, talk with your teen about this lesson and this entire SHAPE series. Find out how your student has been challenged, encouraged, and inspired to pursue a life that honors God and serves others. Here are some questions you might include in your conversation:
- What's been your best experience in the past month or so? How do you think God might use this to shape you?
- If you know you're going to face tough times as a Christian, how might this shape your perspective? How is God using your experiences as opportunities to prepare for future ministry or service to others?

PLANET WISDOM 2014!
PLANET WISDOM 2014 is THIS FRIDAY and SATURDAY See below for more details! It's a focused youth conference for High School Students. This year the theme is THRIVE. At PlanetWisdom, you’ll dig deeper into what it means to live a life with Christ. Believing is more than a one-time action and sometimes it takes a fun weekend away to remember that. Grab a friend and join us at PlanetWisdom this year for two days full of large-group activities and engaging worship, all designed to help you dig deeper into your relationship with Jesus! Details: Click here to see the Parent Flyer for TRIVE. Planet Wisdom is scheduled for February 7-8th on a Friday night and Saturday all day at the Irving Bible Church. The cost for the weekend is only $55. Lunch will be provided on Saturday, but bring money for dinner after the conference is over Saturday evening. Friday...We will meet and need leave the church BY 5:30PM. Eat before or as you come. We will return around 11PM. Saturday Morning we will leave Legacy at 8AM. Bring $$ for a fast food lunch. We should return that evening around 6:30-7P. The group will discuss Saturday afternoon details on Friday.

STEAMBOAT....is FULL!
We are full! All the rooms are booked for Steamboat! If you still think you might want to come we can check availability at Storm Meadows in Steamboat, but as of now they are sold out. This is exciting for our group because we have a large number of skiers going this year! If you are going please watch your email for updates. We will have a brief meeting in February to tie up loose ends, confirm travel plans, talk about check-in, ski school, etc.
