Nice to see left unity developing around SA's Ty Moore campaign.

Dear Pham -
p. Something very exciting is happening in South Minneapolis. A
dynamic coalition of Greens, socialists, Latino community leaders,
Occupy Homes activists, and labor is coming together behind Ty Moore's
campaign for City Council in Ward 9. Even SEIU Minnesota State
Council, representing 30,000 workers, is backing Ty Moore against the
Democratic Party's endorsed candidate.

"":http://www.tymoore.org/donate_cheri_honkala This inspiring
challenge to corporate control of politics, and the Democratic Party's
decades-long monopoly City Hall, is in a strong position to win. But
it's going to take everyone who shares our vision of putting people
over profits helping out and pitching in.

Many of you know my life's work as a fighter for poor peoples'
economic human rights, and especially the right to a home. Ty helped
initiate and lead Occupy Homes, which continues the tradition we
established of fighting homelessness and foreclosures through civil
disobedience.

Alongside Occupy Homes, his campaign is building an “Eviction Free
Zone” in Ward 9, where foreclosures have devastated the neighborhoods,
and where residents like Jaymie Kelly and Sergio Ceballos are fighting
back against Wall Street. Check out this video

of a recent eviction defense victory Ty's campaign helped win.

Every day, canvassers for Moore's campaign are out popularizing the
call for a moratorium on foreclosures, a $15/hr minimum wage, funding
vital services by taxing the super-rich, and an end to police racism
and deportations of immigrants. Their message is clear: Only by
building movements from below can any of this be achieved. Ty will use
his position on City Council to help build and leverage grassroots
community power.

Ty's campaign isn't taking corporate contributions, and if elected
he's pledge to only take the average workers' wage, donating the rest
to movement building work. But to win, the campaign needs the funds to
reach all potential voters and build a real GOTV operation.

That's where you come in. I'm asking you today to dig deep and make a
sacrifice for this important challenge
<http://www.tymoore.org/donate_cheri_honkala>  to corporate power. I
know some of you can donate the $300 max, while others can only give
$50 or $25. Everything helps so donate today!

Yours in solidarity,

Cheri Honkala
