Hi, and welcome to the twenty-first edition of my newsletter!  After this issue, I'll be trying to share my newsletters on a new schedule: every two weeks.  Hopefully it will make them quicker to read, easier to compile, and more fun (as you'll be getting them more regularly!)

It's once again organized into four sections,

1.  New on the "I'm Here. I'm Queer. What the Hell do I Read?" Blog
2.  Speaker Visit News
3.  Children's Literature, SCBWI and Publishing Updates
4.  Current Inspiration

I hope you find it useful and inspiring.

Thanks for reading!
Namaste,
Lee

p.s.  If you'd like to be in touch, please don't hit reply - just send me an email directly at iamle...@gmail.com  Thanks!

2.  Speaker Visit News:

One of the best things about speaking about diversity - and how we need to do more to stand up and be allies to those different from ourselves - is the feedback I get.  Here's a recent email from a high school student who attended one of my "Creating Safe Space: Ending Anti-Gay (And All!) Bullying In Our Culture… And At YOUR School!"

***
Mr. Wind,
I recently attended a speech of yours and I would like to say thank you for informing all of us… I, for one, wasn't aware of how important and how large our "different" community was, and I really think you inspired us to lessen the amount of bullying at our school and in our individual lives.  It might not have seemed like it, but I'm sure you touched all of us and as one member of the entire student body… I will do my best to keep myself and my friends correctly informed about the LGBTQ and other minority groups.
You have opened our eyes and blossomed our minds.  You have changed our school for the better.
So again, before I ramble on any longer, thank you so much.
