Hi I have a Dell Inspiron 15 3505 Ryzen 5 3500u vega 8 - I purchased laptop second hand and when looking in task manager it was running 8GB 3200mhz. I did a bios update and amd software update.. now it runs at only 2400mhz can you help identify why this is. I have contacted dell with no resolution.. Please can I get back to 3200mhz.. I have done so much research but to no avail.. laptop was shipped with 3200mhz and when I look on parts on Dell it only recommends 3200mhz although in community posts and your cpu specs says recommended speed 2400mhz.. was there a change in chipset firmware?.. I can provide my shipping detail.. Really bugging me!! And need to put my mind at rest.. bought 16GB 3200mhz 2x8.. bit wasted now..

So I upgraded ram on my inspiron 15 3593 laptop. Now there is no display and neither is it giving any led display error indicator. Change back to older ram and still the same. Checked for dell trouble shooting and the issue isnt listed there.

When I press the power button. Power led lights up for a few seconds and fades out. I can feel cpu heating up but no display no fan. I press the power button again and then fan kicks in for a few seconds and then powers off. Removed static. Tried bios reset nothing helped.

If not try a full power refresh by disconnecting the main battery and the RTC battery (note the orientation before removing, +ve on top), then press and hold the Power button operated for a full 30 seconds and release.

Yes was exactly the case, I did not unplug the battery before swapping ram. I did unplug the RTC coin cell but not sure if the battery was unplugged at that time. Took it to repair shop he did a CMOS reset which was unplugging the battery and removing the coin cell which brought back the display and now my laptop is working fine with new ram just finished a fresh window install.
