Hi All,
The World Forum in Lille, October 2013, brings together *Ellen
MacArthur*(Circular Economy) and
*Jeremy Rifkin* (Third Industrial Revolution - TIR) with Bhutan Happiness
Commission * *gen sec. *Karma Tshiteem*.
http://www.worldforum-lille.org/en/2013-event/highlights-at-a-glance.html
I will be leading a discussion on Jeremy Rifkin's Third Industrial
Revolution in September. See Windmill announcement below from Matt
Carmichael.
Anna
The next Windmill will be led by *Anna Harris* on Tue Sept 24th, based
on Jeremy
Rifkin's book *The Third Industrial
Revolution<
http://www.waterstones.com/waterstonesweb/products/jeremy+rifkin/the+third+industrial+revolution/8658765/>
*. Jeremy Rifkin sees in the merging of renewable energy production with
the internet, a democratising and transformational influence on social
relationships in education, health, the economy, and paving the way for a
partnership with nature and the biosphere.
* 'In the twenty-first century many people will be generating their own
green energy in their homes, offices and factories and sharing it with one
another across intelligent distributed electricity networks, - intergrids -
just like people now create their own information and share it on the
internet'*.
Rifkin's book *The* *Third Industrial Revolution, how lateral power is
transforming energy, the economy, and the world*, is a beacon of hope in
desperate times.Third Industrial Revolution (TIR) and its 5
pillars<
http://thirdindustrial.com/the-revolution/> has
been endorsed by the
EU<

and
already several European cities have invited the TIR team to plan the
transition to a post carbon economy, eg

even Kazakhstan <

If at all possible, please read the book before the 24th September
Windmill. Or Wikipedia has a section on Jeremy Rifkin, which seems up to
date, and there are many videos and articles cited there.
The main session will start at 7.30pm but please join us for food
from 7pmand bring a little to share.
NB: for the foreseeable future, Windmills will be at David and Pam's house,
1 Gledhow Park Road, Leeds, LS7 4JX whilst I will continue to organise
them.
Suggestions for future Windmills would be most welcome.
All the very best for now,
Matt
Directions to Pam and David's house:
If coming by bus from the centre of Leeds, take the 2, 3 or 3a from the
Corn Exchange or New Briggate (heading North). After Chapel Allerton
Hospital on the right, look out for a Lidl supermarket on the left and get
off at the stop
50 m after the Lidl. Cross the road by the pelican crossing and follow
Montreal Avenue, which starts at the Post Office. At the end of Montreal
Avenue there is a mini-roundabout. Our house is the first on the left with
the Gledhow Park Road sign on the verge and a birch tree in the front
garden.
