Someone mentioned some time ago that the space does AGMs or that we need one or that we should do one or that there's some structure or that something's going on or that someone makes decisions ?

I don't know, do we need one?

Or for a more serious response, Yes.

We need to come up with a date for the meeting; I believe to be fair to all this should be at least a fortnight if not a month away.

Do we want to host it on a Tuesday night? -More members than less seem to like Tuesdays, but if we're doing a proper AGM do we want to take over a public night for it?

Does anyone have thoughts on what needs to go on the agenda? -I'm currently drafting one up, but if there's anything that should be on there, please let me know :)

Personally I'm dead against Friday Evenings or Saturdays, but that might just be me.

If we're planning this for 2-4 weeks time, then it's getting on for our one year anniversary Mabgate.

-How do others feel about a combined Sunday Anniversary Party with combined AGM?

Hmm.... You mean when a lot of us are in London for EMW?  The "plan" for the one-year anniversary was to have it on the Saturday, afaik.

Holding an AGM seems fine way to spoil a party :-)

We're vaguely planning on having the party on the Saturday (which is our
actual anniversary after all). Several of us are going down to London for EMW
on the Sunday.

My guess is that doing any time other than Tuesday Evening might limit
attendance. Depending how long we thing it's going to take I'd say either
cancel the open evening or just warn people that at (say) 9pm we're going to
go into a huddle and ignore you for half an hour.

It does seem to make seems that Tuesdays may be able to get the most members in one place but it seems unlikely that the meeting will only last 30 mins and it think its preferable to have it on a different night if at all possible to avoid cancelling an open night. If it is on a Tuesday can I suggest the 14th of May?  If not on a Tuesday then how about the weekend of 10th -12th of May?

Sorry, I missed the plans for the party -you're right, it's likely to sully things too :)

Personally i go with Japoteg and say Tuesday makes the most sense. 8th or 15th?

I can definitely make the 14th so would prefer then.

Sorry, I'm being a spoon.

My choice of dates are between Tuesday the 7th or the 14th. (damn off by one errors)  -so I'll second the 14th.

@Pbrook: When we announce the open night we'll be pointing out that it's the AGM. Good time for new people to start getting involved (or at least to witness) -but they can certainly be warned :)
