Hi All, 

for those of you new to hackspaces you may want to check out EMF camp which is coming up at the start of June.

Its basically lots of hackspace type people come together in a field for 4 days to share idea/ show off projects, dance, drink, play games learn things. Its a lot of fun with something always going on.

So far about 8 of us have tickets and will go down together and form a Leeds hackspace village. If you can get tickets (they go fast) I highly recommend you join us.

EMF 2022 Ticket Sale Dates and Call for Participation

It'd be lovely to have a chance to say hi to other people who are going in advance, so I feel slightly less like a weird doofus!

I'll be at EMF Camp this year! I was one of the ones that managed to get a ticket for 2020 before (gestures at the world at large) all this happened.

I'll be driving down myself as we're doubling it up with a trip to see the in-laws (my other half and the little one will be there while I'm at EMF) but am all up for joining up with the Hackspace Village.

I saw York Hackspace registered a Village. Should we have our own village or talk to them about a joint one?

I can't offer any lifts I'm afraid as I'm going via my In laws in Bristol & will have a car full of a small child and small child accessories up until that point. I will however be around at the event and part of our village.

There's not REQUIREMENT to register a village unless we plan to bring anything big as part of the village but we can do so at the following URL if you are logged in and registered villages will appear on the map too. So someone in the directors chain of command may wish to register us:

Guy,

EMF will have standard Ceeforms for power in 16A versions.

They look like this:

Used on standard camping hookups for example, so a ceeform to an extension lead is what we usually take.

I am taking quite a bit of cabling, plugs, tools, testers with me so in the worst case scenario there will be some I can lend to people. Plus a DB for many safe connections. Last time I took enough kit to feed everyone's tents.

Hi All so heres the plan:

Fairly new member Daniel Robinson spectre...@gmail.com has offered a couple of spaces in his car. (Thank you Daniel)

Stephen and Ben do you want to go down with him. 

Ben if you are keen to help setting up Phil H may be able to take you Wednesday

Daniels car isnt very big so if either of you have big stuff to take then get it to the hackspace for Tuesday 31st and tell Callum about it and he will transport it in his van. Ill let you manage the final detail among yourselves

Nav and Hex do you want to join me and Kim in  my car, plenty of boot space but still any really big stuff may be best taken by Callum again drop off at the space for Tuesday 31st. Thinking of setting off midday on Thursday and come back early Monday. 

Nav and Ben Im in Wakefield for work next Wednesday (25th) so if you need to get any big stuff dropped off a the space for Callum then I can grab from your home that day- save you trailing it on the bus.

As Joe mentioned the car isn't huge.  (Ford B-max.)  I'm fairly sure my stuff will fit in the boot, so it should be fairly comfortable, but there won't be much spare space.

Volunteering is very scheduled this year. I've spent the morning favouriting talks and planning volunteer shifts around that. Very few spots taken on anything yet so lots of flexibility right now
