Hello Leeds Hack Space community!
I coordinate the University of Leeds Repair Café and we are are keen to collaborate with the wider repair community in Leeds. We repair clothes, small appliances, tech devices and more at our monthly events on campus supported by student, staff and community volunteers.
Volunteering We always welcome support from new volunteers. Our events are on weekday afternoons, which I know may not work with many people's work schedules however we are limited by staff and space availability.
Volunteers will also have access to our Makerspace facility (Mon-Fri 10am-4pm) which includes 3D printers, laser cutter, sewing machines, soldering stations, PC banks with CAD software and more.
2026 dates 1pm-4pm in the Library Makerspace, Edward Boyle Library

Practical Skills Training We are also interested in hearing from individuals/organisations with expertise in a specific repair area and teaching experience to deliver practical skills training to our student volunteers - particularly laptop/phone/tablet repair and small appliance repair. This would be ad-hoc paid work for a freelancer or organisation from September 2026.
